Visit Timing
Pros:
"2 pm. That's a good time to go because it gets busy very fast."
"No time limits, just enjoying yourself in this museum."
"Very conveniently situated near Oxford Circus Underground Station, on Oxford St. itself."
"Booking tickets in advance gives a discount, there was no queue and hardly anyone there when we went."
"Take as long as you like to explore all the exhibits."
"Booked as something different to do in April half term with my 8yo and 4yo, I can honestly say they loved it and so did I."
Cons:
"The locker system is a bit tricky and confusing."
"The museum was super fun but a bit overpriced for the type of museum."
"Tickets are expensive."
"The museum is really interesting and fun. Some illusion I knew already, but others I got to discover along the way. My only criticism would be the price."
"The exhibition is great! It was so original and interesting. So I recommend 100% visiting it. My 2 stars is due to not having enough time to see it and the unhelpful staff."
Experience & Enjoyment
Pros:
"Whatever expectations you have before going here, I’m sure the museum will definitely exceed it."
"A great experience to have. Best enjoyed with other people."
"Really good! Something different. 4 of us went and paid for a family ticket, so in my opinion relatively reasonable for a attraction in London."
"Very fun experience! It's well organized and easy to understand how each illusion works."
"Would highly recommend twist museum to anyone into modern art installations."
"Great little find on Oxford street. An optical illusion museum that's very entertaining and plenty to see inside."
Cons:
"Some of the illusions were mindboggling and well presented, while others were lightly underwhelming."
"I thought it would be more sensory and immersive than it was, so for that, I was slightly disappointed."
"As always, other people are annoying, so try to go early (which is what we did)."
"Most of the illusions are very well known and you’ve probably already seen in textbooks or the internet."
"I didn’t know what to expect and it was surprisingly enjoyable. I’m quite familiar with a few of the optical illusions on display but overall, it’s a fun thing to do after work."
Staff & Service
Pros:
"The staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming."
"The staff are very friendly & polite though - and my party of 3 adults & 1 kid was given a discount in the form of a Family Ticket."
"The staff were very friendly and helpful."
"Staff at the museum were lovely and helpful throughout."
"First of an absolute joy to find free lockers at the start so we didn't have to lug our bags around."
Cons:
"The security guard at the front was proper miserable and mumbled hiding behind the glass door then wonders why no one replies when he says “what time is your booking and do you have your ticket” under his breath so no one hears then has an attitude when you can’t hear him."
"Staff then loitered near ourselves and other visitors, and those that were at the front desk were leaning on the counter and on their phones—clearly had a long day and ready to leave."
"However, the experience felt rushed & pressured, when paying £48.99 for 2 tickets it didn't feel like a great experience."
"However, I do think it was a bit too expensive to enter. With that said, if I came back to London with my kiddo, I would take him here because he'd have a blast and learn a lot."
Value for Money
Pros:
"Tickets are expensive. But I think for a day out with the kids, seeing something different is worth it, and it's also educational as well."
"Fun day out, very interesting. Would recommend for families with kids."
"They provide free lockers to keep your property so you can go in hands-free and enjoy the full experience."
"We spent a good 90 mins or so here and would have gone round again if we had more time."
"Whilst it's not huge if you have fun with all the content and take your time it's a really enjoyable couple of hours."
Cons:
"The museum is cool but not a 50£ for two people kind of cool."
"The museum is popular especially at weekends, & some of the exhibits needed updating / repair - due no doubt to popular use."
"I think it's a bit overpriced for the type of museum, though."
"No no no this is not a 4 or 5 star. 2 things don't let the pictures disillusion into thinking oh this place is huge. It's a very small museum down in a basement on Oxford Street."
"The museum was great, went with 11 year old and she got a lot out of it. We were done in about an hour and a half, so it was a bit expensive for the time we were there, but a fun experience."
