Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The food was absolutely gorgeous, the pies were out of this world with the most delicate puff pastry ever."
  • "A really lovely lunch, the lamb shoulder and roast vegetables were perfectly cooked, couldn't resist the lemon meringue pie too very lovely lunch and service."
  • "The food was delicious, there were baby changing facilities and lovely view of the harbour as always."

Cons:

  • "Menu sparse and diverse. Not much choice in kids and sweets and no staples like chicken nuggets or scampi."
  • "Veg were obviously microwaved roast pots frozen and deep fried processed chicken breast would not recommend."
  • "Very odd Menu, poorly cooked food, very young and uninterested staff."
  • "Possible the worst roast dinner I have ever eaten! Chose the beef which definitely was not a fresh joint it was more like a boil in the bag! Absolutely tasteless."
  • "The meals were in some parts great, but other parts awful. The burger was amazing and delicious, as was the beef my partner had, tender and melt in the mouth, but the roast potatoes were reheated or dipped in a fryer to warm them."
  • "Frozen food, poor quality, Steak was disgusting and inedible."
  • "Menu wasn't anything like website, very limited. Dry chicken, mine came with chips and salad. Nicest thing was the salad."

Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "Very good pub with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere."
  • "A lovely pub and such friendly, thoughtful staff."

  • "The staff were excellent, and the food even better."

Cons:

  • "The service was sparse and disorganised, one girl didn't even know if they were serving food on Sunday evening."
  • "What a terrible place chef rowing / shouting at staff. Staff drunk one poor girl behind bar trying to do all while being shouted at."
  • "Slow and inexperienced staff meant we had to wait quite patiently for drinks and food."
  • "The staff were then unable to split the bill between us."
  • "Very disappointing they had no Guinness, cask ales or coke for the children."
  • "The manager showed no sense of customer service."

Ambiance and Location

Pros:

  • "Unfortunately, it is flat and lifeless and has been for some time."
  • "Average restaurant/pub but we won't be rushing back."
  • "Exterior a bit off putting with black front walls and beer kegs outside."
  • "It was noted the garden furniture was falling apart, the front interior of the pub looked crummy, and even a thermostat on the wall was obviously installed way back in the 1980s."
  • "This pub is overlooking Weymouth. Unfortunately, Weymouth has overlooked this once fine pub."
  • "Nothing special here. This place used to be an amazing pub with a great atmosphere and fantastic food but now it's just a whole bunch of average."
