Food Quality

Pros:

  • "We had the margarita pizza and carbonara, and they were both really nice."
  • "Food was fantastic and there was plenty of it!!"
  • "Food was delicious and arrived quickly and hot. Kids loved their pizzas."
  • "The pizzas are incredible, but probably wouldn't recommend one each if you're having drinks too, as they are HUGE and very filling!!"
  • "Both dishes were quite delicious, we were so stuffed!"
  • "The pizza is absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and a wood-fired oven that really brings out the flavors."
  • "Amazing pizza, outstanding shots (and cheap), nice vibe."
  • "Food and cocktails were amazing and the staff were really pleasant."

Cons:

  • "Unfortunately, my starter arrived at exactly the same time as the main course which wasn’t ideal."
  • "I didn’t like the Heat and meat pizza as the chicken was dry and roasted red onions aren’t my fave."
  • "The food was absolutely shocking, possibly the worst I've ever had. The pizzas were soggy, they tasted of nothing."
  • "I ordered the carbonara and I can only say I had about 3 strands of pasta in my bowl. The sauce was watery & everything tasted poorly cooked."
  • "The food was not of the quality that I expected and really needs a lot of attention as it was a very disappointing meal."
  • "Eating on your own is not a great experience but it's made worse to have to pay for horrible food, over spiced food with foreign objects in it."
  • "Had the calamari as a starter, it was tough and definitely not fresh."
  • "The vegan pizza was a sloppy mess. Me lad found some grass on his chicken pesto pizza."

Service

Pros:

  • "The staff were really kind and attentive and we were served quickly."
  • "Service was great. The servers we encountered were quite friendly and always checked in to see if everything was to our liking."
  • "Our waiter was lovely and while it was busy given it was a Saturday afternoon he allowed us plenty of time to check the menu, order, eat and then chatter a bit."
  • "Staff very kind and friendly got us a booth quickly and were very attentive throughout our stay keeping drinks topped up and checking we were happy."

Cons:

  • "Service was a bit slow and music a bit loud, but overall a fab place to eat and catch up with friends."
  • "However, pasta dishes had more sauce than pasta, what is difficult to understand. Portions were poor in size."
  • "The service was shockingly slow.........no one about, constantly looking to get drinks and then waiting an age for them."
  • "Terrible service, the bar staff were clearly hung over!! Our Bar man was less than polite, spilt our drinks all over the bar."

Ambiance & Location

Pros:

  • "It’s conveniently located on the walk from the Station to St James Park."
  • "The service was good, 2 for 1 cocktails are a nice perk and it had a really chic and Instagrammable design."
  • "Nice place, well done out inside from what it used to be prior to being taken over."
  • "Very nice venue, staff have always been lovely, helpful and very accommodating, good food, decent music and good cocktail selection."

Cons:

  • "Atmosphere more that if a student union bar than an upscale cocktail bar and restaurant."
  • "The music is aimed at a late 40’s hen-do, but I can let a bit of Spice Girls slide."
  • "Very overrated. The pizzas are so sloppy that it is no longer a pizza."
  • "The only thing I'd say which put me off was the bar bit. It's separate from the restaurant as its down some stairs, but the music and shouting seeped up."
