Decor and Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "The decor was cute and made me feel like I was on holiday."
  • "Lovely to be able to sit outside on a warm evening, best place to eat with nice outdoor space."
  • "The upstairs main dining area is poor, but the downstairs open kitchen and seats at the bar look nice."
  • "The ambiance had that rustic Italian charm, very cosy with a warm excellent service."

Cons:

  • "The banquets are too high, fake leather and in poor condition."
  • "The chairs are then too low, making it hard for staff to pass between you and someone at another table."
  • "Tables were rather small garden tables and they put them in every available space on the roof terrace."
  • "The outdoor terrace seating was a bit hard."

Service

Pros:

  • "The staff were warm, knowledgable and accommodating, very friendly and nice."
  • "Staff were all very friendly and accommodating, including to our 15 month old."
  • "Service was quick and the prices were fair, very attentive and never imposing."
  • "Service was just really slow & they missed our drinks order 3 times."

Cons:

  • "The service was inconsistent and very slow, we waiting too long to place our order."
  • "Waited an hour and 15 minutes for our main courses but eventually gave up and left."
  • "The service was poor and this was the only recent restaurant in my recent memory where I received my food first."
  • "Service was a little poor though, simple things like having to be noticed or waited on which took 20mins."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Food was exceptional, ingredients are fresh and the whole atmosphere is so authentic."
  • "Our meals were delicious, the cocktails first rate, and the wine delicious."
  • "Food is excellent, pasta in particular was exceptional."
  • "The food is amazing, everything was so delicious and fresh!"

Cons:

  • "Sadly, it was a disappointment, with very ordinary food."
  • "The two pasta dishes were poor, the better of the two was the beef shin ragu, adapted with gnocchi."
  • "The service was inconsistent and very slow, we waiting too long to place our order."
  • "Pasta was dried out and seriously underwhelming for the price, scallop risotto flavour like a stock cube."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "Very good value for money and will definitely return."
  • "The food is excellent and fairly priced, portions are abundant."

Cons:

  • "Given how poor the food was, we skipped dessert. £68 for two courses and one soft drink felt poor value."
  • "We had to call our server's attention when we got the bill: they were charging 42£ for the bread."
  • "Average food and small portions for extraordinary prices, that was our main take."
