Accessibility

Pros:

  • "The ground is very flat so great for wheelchair users, prams, scooters, bikes etc especially for kids learning to ride."
  • "Nice walk on the boardwalk round by the Clyde, suitable for all ages."
  • "Most paths are either tarmac or wooden planking so you can have a decent walk here even after heavy rain and not get too muddy."
  • "Really flat manageable walkway makes easy access for wheelchairs too."
  • "Being disabled, with mobility issues, I was glad I had my power scooter."
  • "The paths around the park are easy on your feet and spot some of the metal artwork and the story telling ring."
  • "Beautiful riverside walkways give a peaceful walk."

Cons:

  • "Good fun for kids but access could be a lot better to the park and the general footpaths are extremely worn, walked on and muddy at many parts so could be very difficult for prams and wheelchairs etc."
  • "Only downside is no easy access for disabled people you can't park in the park at all."
  • "However there is no toilet facilities which is not great."
  • "Only thing I would say is that Glasgow residents seem unable to have anything nice without ruining it, judging by the horrendous amounts of litter dropped and the burned sign at the bike track."
  • "Bit tricky to get into as Google maps took us to a dead end in an industrial estate."
  • "The car park is closed just now so you have to park on the street and there is not a lot of spaces."
  • "There is no parking at Rutherglen side. Have to park on the street and walk/ride up a hill into the park."

Facilities

Pros:

  • "There is a cafe to get toasties, wraps, sandwiches and drinks. Also an ice cream van."
  • "On site is the both which has toilets."
  • "There is a new car park close to the BMX track."
  • "Great park for the kids and adults alike. Big open play areas, bike tracks, kids play areas, climbing walls, walks and cafe."
  • "A small cafe that has an extensive and healthy menu to choose from at mostly reasonable prices."
  • "Also on site there are food vans to grab a bite to eat or a cold drink."
  • "There is a free car park."

Cons:

  • "Really difficult to find and not really finished yet (Aug 16)."
  • "No snack vans or toilets (portaloos) open right now but you're just across from a retail park that has a Tesco & Starbucks."
  • "No permanent toilets as yet (May 2016) but there are portable toilet units."
  • "There used to be a cafe & ice cream van but sadly these are no longer there & it's quite a distance to the nearest shop so come prepared."
  • "It’s such a shame that the wee cafe is shutting in Oct 18. It has been a great little place to stop for coffee, food or even an ice cream."
  • "Few downsides are, there are only portaloos for toilets which didn't look very clean and the parking isn't great as there was no dedicated car park, there was only on street parking."
  • "Unfortunately the car park always seems to be closed and there always seems to be some kind of construction work going on."

Activities and Entertainment

Pros:

  • "Plenty of climbing structures and things for kids to occupy themselves with."
  • "Excellent place to take the kids and explore, if they love climbing then there are climbing boulders that they have to workout how to get to the top."
  • "Nice wee hidden bit of Glasgow, good for walks and has a nice swing park for the kids."
  • "Great entertainment for all the family. Watch you don't get eaten by one of the dinosaurs!! ha ha. Best to wear wellies as ground was very muddy due to the foot fall."
  • "This is a great park, lots of wooden climbing equipment, hills with slides down them and rock climbing boulders for a real challenge."
  • "Great space for kids to play, cycle and generally run around. Climbing walls, swing park and picnic areas."
  • "Kid friendly park with lots to do from rock climbing zip wires chutes monkey bars to name a few and 2 bike scooter tracks."

Cons:

  • "It was ok not really suitable for smaller children."
  • "£13 each to walk on muddy grass to look at poorly assembled dinosaurs. Extortionate prices for everything."
  • "Shame on you for this terrible attraction. Nothing interactive about it at all."
  • "The playpark is not huge and it was busy when we visited, so it was difficult for the kids to use any of the equipment."
  • "Too many things not working, and things not fixed at this time of year is shocking, kids are on school holidays, no slip slide not enough swings and what are you doing with the climbing trees??"
  • "Loved this park; however the new addition of the tower is poorly implemented."
  • "Only minor gripe I have is the best parts of the adventure play park weren't available... The funnel was closed for repair and both rope slides were missing."

Nature and Environment

Pros:

  • "Nature is let to spread and flourish, animals can live and be observed the same time."
  • "Amazing wildlife if you keep your eyes open, go early to see Deers and foxes! Any time for ducks swans cormorants, bull finches king finches smallest bird in the UK."
  • "Beautiful and calm, perfect for an early morning walk."
  • "This park is beautiful and perfect to take your kids for a day out or even just for a peaceful walk."
  • "A fantastic hidden gem close to Glasgow. The new addition of a car park is a huge bonus, with a walkway directly into the park."
  • "Nice scenic walk along the Clyde and through the woods. You might see deer."
  • "Beautiful riverside walkways give a peaceful walk."

Cons:

  • "Only thing I would say is that Glasgow residents seem unable to have anything nice without ruining it, judging by the horrendous amounts of litter dropped and the burned sign at the bike track."
  • "We also found broken glass on the small hills up to the bridge where the kids play."
  • "Careful about the Hogweed though, it grows all round the River Clyde and can scar for life."
  • "Parts of the play areas need to be repaired and the dog poo on my daughter's shoe was a bit disappointing."
  • "Although a lot of the stuff is pretty high up even for teenage kids. So some of it must be for exercise."
  • "The only reasons for a 4 and not a 5 is poor parking as didn't seem any at the park just spaces on the street further out, if you could get them."
  • "Let down, I think, with a row of portaloos as the only toilet amenities."
