Food Selection

Pros:

  • "Food selection was good having basic sandwiches and a really good sausage roll."
  • "The food and coffee were good and the best part of the lounge."
  • "Sandwiches are alright and seem to be freshly made."
  • "Hot rolls and bacon with eggs on request."
  • "Good selection of food on an early morning also drinks and alcohol available before 10am."
  • "A good selection of light bites and drinks, the staff clearing the tables were right on top of things."
  • "I'm Searching for Vegetarian Food, Really happy for a lot of vegetarian options, especially soups and pasta."
  • "Has a variety of seating and positions with a view, new, clean and very tartan upholstery, the food was great, and snacks and drinks great."

Cons:

  • "The food selection is really bad. There are no hot meals except one pastry and soup."
  • "The food selection was abysmal, with only packs of crisps and sausage rolls available, and they even ran out of sausage rolls."
  • "Food very sparse, only soup, sandwiches and sausage rolls and cheese and biscuits on offer."
  • "It's a nice enough area but the food is horrendous. The wavy dried out with no butter ham sandwich is dismal."
  • "Absolutely not worth it. For the breakfast they have really bad omelette rolls that you have to make yourself."
  • "The food is as cheap as would be fit for human consumption and you now have to queue to get your ration ticket stamped to get your complimentary shot of grog from the bar."
  • "The only options for something hot included an omelette on a bun (don't know why it was called that as it was just a tiny patty of pure egg that was dry and tasteless, bun was way too big)."
  • "Food options are poor. There are a couple types of basic sandwiches, crisps, and soup."

Drink Selection and Policy

Pros:

  • "The selection of drinks is decent."
  • "Alcoholic drinks are limited to 4 per person which I think is reasonable."
  • "Thereafter you can have unlimited rolls, teas, coffees, cereals and 4 alcoholic drinks."
  • "Drinks are rationed and premium drinks like prosecco are extra, and time is limited to 3 hours which can be a bit of an issue if travel connections mean a long wait."
  • "The drinks package is generous with 4 alcoholic drinks and an unlimited supply of hot and cold soft drinks."
  • "The relaxed ambience was great before a long flight. A good choice of snacks and 4 drinks vouchers each were provided."
  • "Nice selection of food and beverage. Sandwiches, crisps, fruit, soup, cake etc. Bar has tenants, mangers and Guinness on tap as well as bottles of other drinks."
  • "The staff are lovely, it's a good time before you have a good time."

Cons:

  • "The restriction of only 4 alcoholic drinks per person was unusual for a lounge."
  • "It did get very busy, and you had to queue for 15 minutes to get a drink order."
  • "Drink wise, we were given 4 drinks vouchers each and not much choice of drinks either."
  • "You get a drink voucher to be stamped so you don't exceed your limit. It's a bit like you're at school and you're being checked up on."
  • "Now when you go on, you are only allowed 4 drinks from the bar."
  • "Very poor now, was handed x4 paper drink vouchers on our arrival."
  • "Not the same choice of food on offer. No free WiFi anymore. Only 4 drinks per person."
  • "A system has been introduced whereby a maximum of four alcoholic drinks may be obtained per visitor, an unusual type of control mechanism."

Seating and Comfort

Pros:

  • "Plenty of seating areas, USB plugs, and they also have a quiet area."
  • "Really nice staff particularly Angie and Mags who gave us a good laugh. Spotlessly clean, plenty of seating."
  • "Seats available, but really poor options."
  • "Staff are friendly and busy. The venue was clean."
  • "This is a great place to start your holiday. Friendly atmosphere from a mix of people."
  • "It's a good place to sit and work, everything is clean and the staff is kind."
  • "Nice enough place to get out of the bustle of the airport. Worth paying the £25 price to enter if you like the relative quiet."
  • "Nice lounge. You get 4 alcoholic drinks per person per visit. Can pay on entry. Foods quite good. Replenished several times. Plenty of phone charging areas. Worth a visit."

Cons:

  • "Issues were there were no newspapers or magazines. Not enough plug sockets or USB chargers for people."
  • "The bright and intense lighting, coupled with uncomfortable seating, made for a less-than-pleasant atmosphere."
  • "Not as good as I was expecting comfort-wise. Not much in the way of big comfy sofas all occupied the ones that were there more just table and chair restaurant style."
  • "A quite crowded environment when I visited."
  • "Worse than a school canteen. Horrible bench seating in the main area."
  • "Food was ok and the drinks…. Would I do it again? I don’t think so."
  • "Early Saturday morning flight, only thing hot were bacon rolls or frozen oven baked omelette rolls, horrible food, no other option for hot food, Very dated decor, men's toilet had 1 urinal and 1 cubical, not good having to q for the loo!!"
  • "Quite crowded, we struggled to get a seat, so hand to stand for almost a hour."

Staff Service

Pros:

  • "Really nice staff particularly Angie and Mags who gave us a good laugh."

Cons:

  • "Service staff forever around but always avoiding eye contact or busy replenishing."
  • "Staff were nice and polite, could have been a little more house proud as there were several dirty tables when we arrived and they were only cleaned after 20 minutes."
  • "Sat for 20mins at a table covered in crumbs & empty glasses, eventually had to go and ask a member of staff if they would please clean our table."
  • "The waiting time at bar was appalling. There was no gin and no corona. The service of one particular lady at bar wasn't very pleasant or helpful."
  • "We were kicked out with 1 hour left of our time, and with a drink left to redeem each between the four of us, they claimed that we had spent more time than our organised slot."
  • "When I suggested he should ring for help, he just laughed and when I said I was serious, he just ignored me."
  • "The reception desk laughed at us, like it was absurd to think we could use our lounge passes at the lounge, then proffered is a laminated copy of the terms of service with the clause highlighted saying they are allowed to deny us entry."
  • "I am a frequent flyer with the Star Alliance group. Despite this and a United 1k card, i was refused entry on a Lufthansa flight. Norma, at the desk, needs a lesson in customer service."
