Park Facilities
Pros:
"This place is great my lad loves the skate plaza it is one of the best outdoor skate parks in the country, they got lovely walks around the area, really great place on a sunny day also has a massive park, also has lots of parking spaces."
"The children's facilities, skate park, bouldering wall are all great."
"A fantastic place to take the family and it's very dog friendly too, the cafe and ice cream parlour are both very good value for money and staffed by friendly helpful people and there's a lot on offer with a big play park and skate park."
"Great for kids it has a big play area, a climbing rock, table tennis and there's also a decent skate park."
"Fantastic playgrounds for youngsters and older kids. Nice setting with lake. Has a skate park."
"The park area is fantastic for kids of all ages. Lots of different play equipment, all fenced for safety."
"It's a great little place with lots of interesting things to do, there are a wide range of activities and entertainment throughout the year too so there is always something to keep your family entertained."
Cons:
"Walked through as I live locally. The snack bar lets the Park down, outside the rubbish hadn't been picked up and the staff were hanging out of the hatch engrossed in their mobile phones and weren't approachable."
"Considering that they have a kiosk selling snacks and drinks, I found the lack of toilet hygiene a little unsettling."
"The paths also need cleaning more often as they has been often been lots of mess on the path."
"Felt very vulnerable there with my child ! There's homeless people living in tents in the surrounding shrubs hidden away, this place needs a huge clean up of drug paraphernalia and rubbish the homeless have thrown."
"This park has such huge potential but at the moment itβs a mess. Kids area a mess, bird mess everywhere."
"The lake is a little unpleasant being the victim of littering."
"Only downside is it is very busy when the sun is out, and the toilets are always filthy."
Parking and Accessibility
Pros:
"Great park, large parking area (paid) free disabled parking."
"There's plenty of parking and no charge."
"It's nice for the kids and easy access for wheelchairs and prams to have a walk round there is a park there skate park and a little cafe were you can grab something to eat or drink and they have ice cream and toilets with easy access."
"Very good smooth path ways all around the park so you don't have to worry if pushing a pram or if you require a wheelchair."
"It's got free parking, a refreshment kiosk, toilets, a skate park, children's rides, the lake and the birds, the lake perimeter is tarmaced so good for mobility scooters and pushchairs."
"Great for my mobility walker as the car park overlooks the lake and the paths are level and smooth."
"There's plenty of parking which costs from Β£1, which you can use NFC to pay."
Cons:
"Sadly the website still states parking is free!!!"
"Only grumble is the introduction of car park charges."
"But how popular it will be after the council introduces a Β£3 carpark charge remains to be seen."
"Be aware there are parking charges now and some streets around have resident-only restrictions."
"Unfortunately, Hanley forest park has declined in popularity since Stoke city council introduced parking meters, which has affected the once thriving cafe."
"Grown up in birches head, a favourite place to stop by... sad to hear that the council are even charging for people to park... Greedy isn't the word, like we don't already pay for everything... Go by foot if possible, parks should be free & parking in them too, this land has always been there."
"The One BIG DOWNSIDE is that they have now decided to charge for parking which is ridiculous and just a money-making scheme."
Cafe and Food Services

"However the lady in the side cafe/window was quite rude."
"Very snotty lady at the cafe ....I placed an order then said I ll just go sit my autistic son down and be straight back ...I was told I couldn't....I said I will be 30 secs max but no I wasnt allowed to move due to covid."
"I have just been down today with my grandkids to find that the kiddies play area has been replaced it's supposed to be the 6-weeks holiday I cannot comment on what I wants to say hey about the local cancel organisation is Neil useless can't get anything right."
"The only issue I've found is the toilets are closed at weekends."
"People visiting drop their litter and if it is the weekend it stays there as the counsel don't pick litter or empty the bins at the weekend."
