Food Quality

  • "Absolutely delicious. Excellent fish both cooked and sushi wise."
  • "Superbly fresh fish with absolutely delicious flavour."
  • "The food was excellent with amazing and subtle flavour combinations all beautifully presented."

Cons:

  • "It's a bit costly considering the flavour."
  • "I felt the fried items (scallop dish and tempura prawns) had lost their texture and taste and tasted too much of 'fry'."
  • "The sushi was decent, but the sticks were served very cold, and the sauces didn't complement them well."
  • "Only the Crème Brûlée was good."
  • "The duck roll had no flavour, even dipped in the sauce it came with, it just felt like chewing on dough."
  • "Some of the skewers were quite dry and while the sushi was fresh I think I would have enjoyed the sashimi/nigiri more as a few of the rolls were slightly over seasoned."
  • "The food could have some more flavour."

Service

Pros:

  • "Everything about Sticks N Sushi was absolutely fantastic... even more importantly so was the service!!"

  • "The staff are always so lovely and enthusiastic there."

Cons:

  • "Service, sadly was atrocious as the waiter brought us 2 wine glasses that looked they like pre used ones found in pub the morning after."
  • "One of the staff members was completely rude, and another embarrassing my partner when she tried using the disabled toilet, not knowing she has disabilities and made it so she didn't go to the toilet."
  • "Good food, but takeaway system is a complete nightmare."
  • "We asked for extra wasabi and soy sauce for the table however this arrived about 10 minutes after the request was made and by this time we were frustrated with the service so just ate the sushi without it."
  • "Couldn't order a drink or food despite at one time six members of staff standing together, four of them chatting."
  • "The team were very slow to bring out the food, the drinks arrived at different times and the waitress forgot one of our drinks and we had to remind them after the first dish came out."
  • "Service was under par! Ordered 2 cocktails, after 25 minutes only 1 arrived."

Ambience

  • "Lastly music was just too loud."
  • "I can imagine it probably gets quite loud in there."
  • "While the interior and the design of the restaurant looks amazing the atmosphere was like sitting in a McDonalds."
  • "The atmosphere is not on point, the background wallpaper that had a brick print on it, with the bright lights and massive space felt non-intimate."
  • "You feel like you're in suburban America just outside the 'real' city, with decor choices that echo some of the most basic diners."

  • "Fresh tasting sushi, better than other expensive sushi eateries."

Cons:

  • "This place is on the pricy side."
  • "The price was on the high end. It costed us £40 per person."
  • "Definitely not worth the money."
  • "Although we like the concept is just overpriced."
  • "Not really satisfied. Portions and selections did not justify the price."
  • "The sushi however isn’t better or superior to anywhere else, so why do you have to pay almost £50 per person every time you dine here."
  • "For £160 I could have had a lovely meal in sushi samba. Thoroughly disappointed."
