Atmosphere and Decor

Pros:

  • "The interior was bright and calming."
  • "The place is stunning and all the staff was very friendly and efficient."
  • "The place itself is really stylish and has a nice, calm ambience."
  • "It is very clean and has a great atmosphere: perfect volume of the music and well ventilated."
  • "Lovely cafe for a lunch... The pide were delicious and provided a light lunch, just enough to fuel us through the day but not too much to weigh us down and make us want to nap."

Cons:

  • "Service was great, delivery of food was very, very slow."
  • "The interior decoration was cosy and modern. The fireplace is a fantastic addition as is the view to the kitchen. Together with the many plants, it makes for an appealing and inviting space."
  • "And please please find someone to take care of the lovely wall of now dead ivy and plants through the glass doors - its NOT a good look - especially with so many diners stopping by to/from the Royal Botanical Garden - do a deal with a local gardener!"

Service

Pros:

  • "Service was great and the food was delicious."
  • "The service was very quick, and they even gave us a little candle when we told them that we were having a birthday meal."
  • "Staff are also very friendly and attentive."
  • "Lovely atmosphere. It reminded me of good old times."

Cons:

  • "Great ambience & service but the food is unfortunately below average…"
  • "Our meal here was unfortunately really not good...Service was fine and sitting outside was nice but would not recommend this spot for the food."
  • "Awful!!! Avoid! We went for brunch...Horrible service, food and expensive! I am a local and I will certainly never return."
  • "The service was awful. The 3 year old cannot eat diary...She insisted they didnt have margarine because the owner wouldn’t allow them to buy it."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The food was superb, special mention to the pepperoni pizza and the cakes."
  • "If you have to try one thing, go for blueberry pancakes. Those are delicious!"
  • "We ordered a few things and there were a couple of vegan bits which was good."
  • "The food is good quality with a lot of options and all day breakfasts but unfortunately (like many restaurant cafes) the gluten free bread is clearly store bought."
  • "Nice, chilled spot. Very good food, very well put together (proper cooks)."

Cons:

  • "It is the first time I had corn fritters which tasted weirdly like playdough and they are really soggy."
  • "Prices are okay. Think it would be a bit on the expensive side with alcohol. Would recommend but say 15% tip is added on which is more than average in most places."
  • "Food was BURNT DRY OVERCOOKED and SALTY."
  • "Very poor. Pricing is on the high side (although probably about par for Kew) which we wouldn't have minded if the food had been okay. It wasn't."
