Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Excellent tasting lamb grill, whether you try the kofte or shish."
  • "Best biryani place in Coventry. Period. Biryani had the authentic spices, the meat was tender and had good portion."
  • "Meat was so tender, juicy and succulent, very flavorful, marinated and grilled to perfection."
  • "The food is definitely worth 5 stars, the portions are hearty and filling and the taste is genuine."
  • "Very tasty food and loved but I gave one star just to make known to the owner and customers that accepting only cash and not accepting card payment is very very bad."
  • "Food is good when they offer it, but I went a long way to go there and sat a while with extended family before deciding what to order."
  • "Good food, busy place, so always fresh. Their lamb biriyani is very popular and lamb chops."

Cons:

  • "Service is poor; even though they had just one other table, they were slow and felt didn't really want to serve us, seemed uninterested."
  • "The 1/2kg karahi which is £20 was mainly bones and looked pathetic."
  • "The Afghani pillao was oily and was served with just a bone with one tiny bit of meat."
  • "The only complaint that we had was the massive wait for our food."
  • "The toilets were filthy and full of water which made them very slippy."
  • "The lamb kofta is heavenly, it has awesome flavour and the charcoal cooking just elevates it a few more levels."
  • "The chappal kebabs are tender and soft. 10 out of 10."

  • "The staff is also very helpful. Please note that they only accept cash as payment."

Cons:

  • "Service is okay. Parking available at the back."
  • "Service is very bad, the staffs are very rude and don’t know how to behave."
  • "Environment is like sitting in a fish market. Everybody was in a rush."
  • "Waited 45mins, after ordering, finally the food arrived and was not what we ordered."
  • "We were ignored for almost an hour but after speaking to them we were served quickly."
  • "Waiters are pathetic, tables dirty, and place is mostly crowded."

Hygiene and Cleanliness

  • "Their kitchen and cooking area is absolutely incredible and open to all customers."
  • "The food is always fresh. The mix grills and shish are cooked well, tender and flavourful."
  • "Lovely food stop specialising in Afghani cuisine. Plenty of seating & parking available round the back of the restaurant."

Cons:

  • "The place is an absolute tip though, can't even step foot in the toilets without wanting to take a shower afterwards."
  • "Found hair in the lamb curry and they didn't even have standard hygiene to clean the tables."
  • "We ordered a jalfrezi to then get a standard curry and when we questioned it the waiter said oh we don't have that on the menu."
  • "The waiters have an attitude problem and I'm not sure why as they are illegal immigrants and probably dont even have the right to work in the UK."
