Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Well the food was just fantastic and one of the best."
  • "The food was delicious, with a highlight being a chocolate mousse cake with tonka bean ice cream and caramel."
  • "This dinner was one of the most delicious meals I've had in a very very long time (even before covid)."
  • "food is certainly up there withe best if you like good food."
  • "The gurnard main course I had was delicious. The risotto underneath the fish was the best bit - perfectly cooked and packed with flavour."
  • "The food was great, tender lamb and scallops out of this world."
  • "Food was simple but generally good- crab starter lovely and fresh, and sole meunière beautifully prepared."

Cons:

  • "not what you would expect from an establishment of this calibre."
  • "I had crab croquettes as a starter, and it was hard to determine that the filling was crab. There was little flavour."
  • "The food was only very average and was barely tepid."
  • "For the food I'd have cooked the steak for a minute more, slightly too hard to cut through."
  • "Our desserts was really bad - genuinely inedible, not sure how you can go so wrong with a custard tart."
  • "The potatoes in my main had been previously frozen you can tell from the rubbery texture and my scallop starter tasted of nothing, no flavour at all."
  • "Scallop starter had no golden crust. My fish was also poorly cooked - texture a bit like wet cotton wool."

Service

Pros:

  • "Could not fault any aspect of the service, ambiance or the food."
  • "Service, ambience and food was excellent."
  • "Chef personally showed to greet us and have turned out to be great fellow. Really memorable experience."
  • "The service was top-notch, both elegant and with attention to detail, I think every guest felt valued."
  • "Fantastic service with very attentive, down-to-earth staff who made our experience feel so special."
  • "The service was lovely and attentive without being overbearing."
  • "We could not fault the service, all waiters were very friendly and service excellent."

Cons:

  • "they forgot about it and we had to remind them."
  • "not rude but generally incompetent."
  • "inconsistent service (we barely saw the same face twice) forgotten items, a charmless sommelier."
  • "Service was poor- not rude, just inattentive and disorganized."
  • "The service was very slow. We spent over 100 quid and wasted 3 hours in there."
  • "Beautiful venue, shame our evening was ruined by the disgustingly rude staff."
  • "Cocktails arrived twenty minutes after our canapés."

Value

Pros:

  • "Pricing as expected for a Michelin star restaurant in Mayfair."
  • "Great for business lunches - highly recommended."
  • "Very good value."
  • "It's Mayfair, it's top end but it's value for money and you never feel like anyone is taking advantage."
  • "Corrigan’s Mayfair has a very well priced set lunch menu."
  • "The food was delicious, we had the set menu which was well worth the money for 3 courses."
  • "We paid around £340 for pre-dinner drinks, 3 courses (including steak), bottle of wine, port and a 15% service charge. For Mayfair, and for the best service a restaurant could give, I'd pay that again in a second."

Cons:

  • "The price was ridiculous for what it was."
  • "It was quite difficult to find anything under £80 a bottle."
  • "For a meal that cost over £180 sterling (€200 euros), you expect perfection. Unfortunately, it was far from it."
  • "Prices too high."
  • "About £45 a bottle over priced compared with other restaurants.....and I do mean west end/ Mayfair ones."
  • "Food good but not that good. Resented the fact that when you order a drink at the bar they automatically include a service charge on the bill."
  • "Not enough value for the money I'm afraid. There's much better places in London."

Ambiance

Pros:

  • "Very classy restaurant."
  • "Beautiful restaurant in the heart of Mayfair!"
  • "The decor was very relaxing."
  • "Great food, great service (attentive without being intrusive), good gluten free selection and knowledge."
  • "The cozy atmosphere and diverse menu immediately set a positive tone."
  • "A nice relaxed atmosphere with a friendly and attentive front of house."
  • "The decor is a bit like Scott's or the Ivy but the atmosphere is calmer. High end, luxurious and discreet."

Cons:

  • "Atmosphere in main bar is quite partyish, be warned."
  • "Mixed feeling twisted between amazing food and pushy service to consume."
  • "Also main bar area very small to get by groups of people, if you need to leave or toilets."
  • "The front of house welcome was less than warm, the girl who did front of house could have frozen the cocktails with a single look."
  • "Restaurant is very nice, great setting although I found the ambience a little too dull for me."
  • "On the down side, the restaurant has an old fashioned air.....a bit of the gentleman’s club from times past."
  • "I won't be be returning. Shame."
