Ambience & Decor

Pros:

  • "The pub itself is clean, nicely decorated and had a fab beer garden."
  • "The bar area and the restaurant all link together beautifully and make it feel much more cohesive than it was before."
  • "Lots of big outdoor tables with comfortable seats, Garden well looked after with lots of pretty flowering plants."
  • "Good atmosphere."
  • "The outside seating area looked beautiful as we walked through to the entrance."
  • "As soon as we entered the pub all our doubts were dispelled as it had a warm welcoming atmosphere."
  • "The decor style is attractive and simply done, providing a welcoming environment to sit with friends and family."

Cons:

  • "Looks like they either dont clean, or need a new cleaning team. Food on the floor, chips left on a child's seat, dirty seats with old food trapped in the gaps, really poor."
  • "The service is poor, the layout's all wrong and the interior is the worst example of a low-end chain thinking it knows how to do traditional."
  • "Terrible. An absolute shambles of a pub run by disengaged staff who neither care nor have any inclination of what makes a decent pub."
  • "What a shame the management have caved in to moaning people who it would seem are incapable of moving from a door and sitting elsewhere....this now really spoils the pub for anyone who wishes to use the garden as u now have to walk all the way round from the car park entrance door."
  • "The side salad I got was not fresh at all and over priced for any thing of that standard."
  • "Also my beer had lipstick on the glass? Obviously not particular to the silvers and glasses."
  • "The yorkshire pudding had been microwaved instead of cooked in the oven. (a definite no no !!)"

  • "Amazing atmosphere and lovely staff."
  • "The service was great."
  • "Service Excellent."
  • "Very friendly and attentive service by Carl and Adam made for a perfect evening."

Cons:

  • "Previous visits to the venue have been good although on one occasion service was very slow."
  • "told we would have to wait 30 to 40 minutes to eat."
  • "shameful pub and underage people inside also serving people that's too intoxicated."
  • "The Manager was very off hand, so we left."
  • "Service very slow."
  • "It appeared there was a shortage of staff but no apology."
  • "Service was lacking as other guests left and we had for drinks, pudding and to pay the bill."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Lovely evening meal this evening. Sharing camembert, 8 oz sirloin cooked to perfection and a bbq burger."

  • "The best smothered chicken we've tasted."
  • "Delicious Sunday lunch, with beautiful vegetables, succulent meat all very well prepared."
  • "The food was great service outstanding 10 oz Ribeye was cooked to perfection."

Cons:

  • "The chichpea curry was like warm, the naan bread was like cardboard and they had microwaved the yoghurt dip."
  • "The worst microwaved meal I have had in a long time."
  • "my mum was very disappointed in her meal she had wasn't anything special for the price she paid seabass with scallops and pea risotto."
  • "NOT family friendly - The bad language coming from around the bar was unacceptable."
  • "Pudding (chai sponge) was also okay, but a tad dry."
  • "The garlic bread turned out to be 3 fingers of half burnt bread with a hint of garlic on an oversized plate that made it look worse."
  • "On the downside the steak and ale pie we had Thurs was not good. Although large it was only partially filled with textured gravy and no meat to be seen."
