Event and Show Quality

Pros:

  • "The magic show hosted by Zoomy was hilarious."
  • "The dinosaur show is brilliant! Highlight of the day!"
  • "Fantastic venue with fun activities for all to enjoy."
  • "We came here for Pumpkin Hollow and were very impressed, it was really good."
  • "Amazing day for christmas, so organised not over crowded and well thought out."
  • "The kids enjoyed gingerbread decorating, seeing Santa, adding a wish to the wishing tree and making reindeer food."

Cons:

  • "Very disappointing, visited today, no rides or bouncy castle open even though advertised."
  • "A bit disappointed, found this campsite via campsites-co-uk and specifically asked it to ONLY list campsites with included play areas."
  • "The rides were only open for two half an hour sessions during the day, only one of the quad bikes was operating."
  • "Attending a MBOC event held at HCW, been before and there's a nice variety of small shops, cafe and garden centre - and plenty of open space. 2/3rd visit and there was a small craft market too."
  • "Booked a outdoor cinema event to help the local economy. Unfortunately my wife was contacted by track and trace and had to self isolate. Hatton refused to refund."

Animal Interactions

Pros:

  • "We met some guinea pigs and had a stroke and you are allowed to pet the lambs and kids in the barn."
  • "Animal handling, lamb's, guinea pigs, rabbits and a beautiful snake called Timon."
  • "Great variety of animals in a natural environment. Wonderful experience to get close to reptiles & small mammals under supervision of staff."
  • "Fantastic Christmas family experience, the staff are excellent and there are plenty of things to do."
  • "The childrens farm side of things is wonderful and full of a wide variety of farm and unusual animals to visit."

Cons:

  • "Lots of farm animals, mainly goats and sheep. Didn’t see any horses or cows which were supposed to be there."
  • "The cages for the wild birds are extremely small! That's unacceptable and should be taken under serious consideration by the owners."
  • "I think it is cruel to keep birds in cages and not let them fly in their natural habitat."
  • "Some bits need refreshing and some rides missing stuff."

Food and Dining Experience

Pros:

  • "Started off at The Retreat to have breakfast."
  • "The cafe has a great selection of food at a reasonable price."
  • "Good food and drink options, friendly staff and actors, and a great live band."
  • "The food was okay we ordered 2 gammon steaks with everything but it came with no onion rings, gammon not properly cooked very hard, mushrooms as dry as biltong/ dried meat and chips over done and greasy or say oily."
  • "Our first visit in quite a while. Visited the cafe. Staff very friendly. Good menu & delicious cakes."
  • "Went to Hatton on a sunny afternoon and enjoyed getting something from the vintage shop, followed by a lovely lunch of freshly made sandwiches and salad."

Cons:

  • "Only negative, and the reason for 4 stars is the restaurant in Adventure World was terrible."
  • "The food at the restaurant/cafes is dreadful. At the spinning jenny its extortionate and you get such basic food."
  • "It’s a shame as it could be a nice family day out, we spent two hours here and that was us massively dragging it out as so little to do."
  • "Breakfast was really poor, I can only imagine it had been left on the heating plate for hours."
  • "Shocked by the popularity and 5 star reviews. This place is run down to the extreme, majority of the attractions tatty and old in adventure land, Toilets abysmal, cafe was ok."
  • "Just popped in for garden centre and a cuppa. Fifteen pounds for 2 drinks and 2 hotdogs (cooked in a microwave no onions or sauce) that were frankly mystery meat."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "Under 2s are free and it's £10 per adult via the website in advance. £20 for a day out isn't bad!"
  • "Free rides and laser combat made an exciting day. It's worth the entrance fee."
  • "A fun-packed day out. Couldn’t have asked for more. Good value for money."
  • "We came here for Pumpkin Hollow and were very impressed, it was really good. We've been to similar halloween events in the area over the years where the entry fee was 3x as much and they were far worse than this."
  • "The way I look at it £20 for a pumpkin, animals, scary rides and shows, gold mining (brilliant little medal), magic show (bloody brilliant) and play area indoor and outdoors was a steal."

Cons:

  • "Little expensive and paying for car parking on top of a nearly a £20- ticket is a little much."
  • "Lots of vacant shops. If you plan to visit, make sure you arrive before 1pm to enjoy the attractions- advise you do not arrive after 2:30pm, place starts to shut down at 4pm and you are charged the same so recommend you arrive early to enjoy the day."
  • "It's more expensive as Cotswold zoo or All things wild."
  • "The food at the restaurant/cafes is dreadful. At the spinning jenny its extortionate and you get such basic food."
  • "A bit disappointed, found this campsite via campsites-co-uk and specifically asked it to ONLY list campsites with included play areas."
  • "A lot of things required pound coins (not included in ticket entry) slightly inconvenient we weren’t aware of these attractions beforehand as we had no cash on us."
