Food Quality and Taste

Pros:

  • "The sushi rolls were no longer broken when I picked them up with chopsticks."
  • "The fish in the sushi was fresher than I remembered too."
  • "Reasonable quality large portion sizes."
  • "The larger rolls were definitely the go, and the seaweed ones were my favourite."
  • "The quality of the dishes ranges from bad to alright, and the sashimi isn’t the best but it is definitely above the average you’d get in Britain at a similar-end restaurant!"
  • "There is great choice of Sushi and other dishes. Most of the food was really good."
  • "The sushi was always fresh and very tasty. All you can eat - the best option to try a bit of everything."
  • "Came here twice for some late night half priced sushi. Amazing value for money and my friends and I felt the sushi was excellent quality and plenty to choose from."

Cons:

  • "Rice is undercooked and under seasoned. Fish is fresh enough but unbelievably bad quality."
  • "Had a roll with eel and it was spongy and overcooked."
  • "The sushi was extremely bland and really unappetising."
  • "The standard for the California roll is appalling. Honestly, it is quite difficult to find a characteristic of this sushi worthy of praise."
  • "Terrible sushi, very salty, tasteless toppings. I won't go there again."
  • "The sushi were WARM and some fish on top were not fresh at all, very low quality sushi and sashimi."
  • "The food was so bad that I had to give it back. I could not chew the seaweed for the life of me."
  • "Sushi A la carte was 50% off during lunch time. Quality was very average...they use a silly amount of unseasoned rice in the sushi, makes every sushi we tried really unappetising."

Service and Staff

Pros:

  • "Staff friendly and helpful."
  • "The staff were very attentive which made the mandatory 10% service charge perfectly acceptable."
  • "Despite reading some negative comments based on the manners of the staff, I think they are perfectly friendly, not overly friendly, but not rude."
  • "Staff have always been polite and efficient. I've never had an issue."
  • "I've come here a handful of times as the fish quality is really good. Yes the staff can be cold, and items usually get either forgotten or mixed up but they always correct it."

Cons:

  • "The worst thing was all the fried food had a funny after taste, probably from old oil and was soggy."
  • "They don’t allow you to take food home. This makes no sense as food was ordered a la carte and so wasteful ordering shouldn’t have been a consideration."
  • "The manager was very rude and unprofessional, told us that we were 'stealing from the workers wages' and he was saying it loudly trying to embarrass us into not getting a refund of the service charge."
  • "The manager followed us and told us that 'we aren't welcome anymore' and that he 'doesn't want to see us again'. I found this very childish and petty of the manager, considering it was his mistake for not telling his workers to inform customers of the service charge."
  • "The manager spoke in such a rude and arrogant tone when I asked him what was the dish he has just served us."
  • "The service is a joke, probably the worst I have ever come across: We waited 10min to be seated and it took 30min for the first food to arrive."
  • "They have absolutely no idea how to cook Japanese food."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "Authentic Japanese restaurants in UK can be crazily expensive, but this place offers more reasonable prices."
  • "For the amount of food you get, the price is pretty good. The all you can eat option was great."
  • "Decent sushi for takeaway, especially good range of vegan options."
  • "The price is a tad expensive for the quality but as long as you have a big enough appetite, it’s well worth the value for money if you know what to get, and order smart!"
  • "This is probably my most regular restaurant as you can eat a lot of really nice, fresh food for about £10 each."

Cons:

  • "The all you can eat has been trimmed down to a fraction of the dishes they used to include so is no longer good value."
  • "The food qualty is under average for the price at half price."
  • "The price is still somewhat expensive in relative to the food quality."
  • "We had to wait more than 30mins longer than the anticipated delivery time at order."
  • "The unlimited sushi deal, whilst varied, is extremely average. Most of the hot food was bland and the sushi was not fresh."
