Ambiance and Decor

Pros:

  • "Both outdoor and indoor spaces have the prettiest decor. Such a vibe! Great for large groups and students."
  • "Wow, the decor was so pretty, flowers everywhere, definitely magical, I'd say."
  • "Magnificent decorations. The inclusion of 'magic' in the name is in no way misleading; you enter a place of vivid colour, delicate details and a glamorous yet light aesthetic."
  • "Very green and cool place. Great sitting area in a spacious garden. Great atmosphere especially when the weather allows us to sit outside."
  • "Beautiful outdoor seating area for food and drinks. Very Instagramable."

Cons:

  • "Pretty mediocre, had a right long wait for a cocktail... Outdoor bit is pretty cool / quite big."
  • "Booked in for the high tea... Service was super quick and lots of drink refills were available, but the room we were in wasn't the prettiest."
  • "We were cold the outdoor heating wouldn’t work. On a hot summers day you might be comfortable in a cold draughty garden but not when it was warmer on the street than in the garden."

Service and Staff

Pros:

  • "Lovely service, friendly and accommodating staff. All you could ask for."
  • "Service was very friendly and attentive. We had a small magic show by Thomas Dixon which was a great addition to the brunch."
  • "The women at the front desk was lovely, showed me to though the magical forest flowers and into the garden. She was really friendly."
  • "The staff were very attentive a friendly and prepped and ready with a plan B for a turn of weather during the outdoor cinema experience."
  • "Emily was the most amazing Server!! Thank you for a brilliant night!! Make sure she gets a pay rise!"

Cons:

  • "Service was slow and we had to remind them about items, but it was busy as was a Saturday evening."
  • "I just fancied something quick, I went to the outside bar and I waited and I waited... Shocking!!"
  • "We booked the Retro Lounge for our wedding reception, and the experience left a lot to be desired. Staff lack the communication and experience to host an event."
  • "Terrible experience... Rude waiter who served the food."
  • "We paid £120 deposit for seats... and were greeted with very grumpy, almost petulant staff."

Food and Drink Quality

Pros:

  • "I ordered The Classic Flatbread with Cajun Spiced Seasoned Fries. Flavourful and delicious."
  • "Flatbread pizzas and garlic chips were delicious and large portions."
  • "The food was amazing (tapas buffet) and it was just the right amount."
  • "Really nice food with plenty of dietary options."
  • "The food was nice, the service was amazing and so were the drinks. But it’s such a shame that one person who is meant to be a superior ruined such a special evening."

Cons:

  • "Cocktails were almost weaker than water, barely had any taste which I'm guessing also meant barely any alcohol."
  • "Food tasted slightly frozen as if it had just been heated up."
  • "Pretty mediocre, had a right long wait for a cocktail... Cocktails were super basic, also."
  • "Food was terrible as well as being late. Only one waitress would talk to my party, the other two barmen ignored us."
  • "The burger was burnt, no swaps or upgrades were allowed to sweet potato fries, despite them being on the menu."
