Animal Welfare and Enclosures
Pros:
"The animals are very well looked after and you can tell the staff are doing their best for them."
"The enclosures are well suited to each animal and the ones that need extra privacy and space are given just that."
"New enclosures are gradually being built and you can tell the animals are happy and well cared for."
"All the animals seemed content and the staff were great too."
Cons:
"Some of the enclosures were a bit small for the animals being kept in there, but overall it was okay."
"Animals looked bored, pacing back and forward."
"Half the animals aren't out, facilities aren't the cleanest and enclosures look overgrown and not looked after."
"I never normally leave reviews but I was quite upset by how distressed and bored many of the animals were. Enclosures were small and not well kept."
Staff and Educational Experience
Pros:
"All the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and it’s obvious that they care so deeply about these beautiful creatures!"
"The animal keeper was very informative and fed the cat species and threw the food where we could see close ups of these beautiful creatures."
"Amazing staff who care deeply about the animals across the site. We were lucky to take part in a wild cat feed where the guide was knowledgeable and very friendly."
"Our Keeper was Libby, who made us feel very relaxed and gave us lots of interesting information about the foxes."
Cons:
"Tried to book in with a meerkat experience voucher only to receive a very rude and dismissive e-mail in return."
"The women at the front desk is a bit miserable but all the other staff are really friendly."
"The staff are very good. The reptile talk was excellent and people were able to hold the animals. Outdoor and indoor play areas are available as well as a gift shop/cafe. The cafe is not expensive and on the menu was toasties and jacket potatoes as well as kids sandwich options. Not a big place so don't expect many animals."
"Expensive entry price and cafe, £1.60 for a can of coke…. Met by a very grumpy lady on entry. Clearly didn’t want to be there and then the same grumpy attitude when purchasing from the cafe."
Facilities and Amenities
Pros:
"The cafe, they make the most delicious toasted sandwiches and lots of other cooked meals and amazing cake, plus other stuff like ice cream etc."
"The facilities are ok, though it needs a lot of work. There aren't really any footpaths through the main enclosed area, you have to walk along the grass area which is quite bumpy and struggled to get the pushchair around in a few places."
"Good Park. Don't expect much in the dinosaur department, that was a disappointment. The animals were cute. Some of the cats were stunning. Cafe could do with some imagination. Coffee and tea both very poor. I'd be embarrassed to serve that."
"Nice cafe. Don't expect to see all of there animals and reptiles as some hide during the day. The Dinosaur part is great fun."
Cons:
"The ONLY downside to the trip was the cafe, I don’t know if it was the time of day or time of year we visited but there wasn’t a huge selection."
"The food facilities aren't the best but it is clear this is a new business and they are still clearly growing."
"One issue was the food... although it was very nice a jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise but it was small and had no salad or dressing just the potato with a spoonful of tuna mayo. For £6.95 I expected a better presentation of the food."
"After walking around the park we stopped at the cafe to get out of the sun for a bit, and get something to drink, nice little cafe with a decent selection to eat and drink."
