Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The food was cheap and cheerful, and the mixed grill was absolutely amazing and great value for money."
  • "Food is amazing, totally recommend the nachos for starters. Steak was cooked how medium rare should be."
  • "All five meals were well cooked and very tasty."
  • "The Vimto burger, stunning and would highly recommend this very different burger."
  • "The food was good though, so will go back another time."
  • "The food we ordered along with the 'Monsoon kiss' mocktail was good."
  • "The food is what you expect from a hungry horse, but the wait was over an hour and it wasn't full by any stretch."
  • "The food came super quick and easy piping hot."

Cons:

  • "But out of the 14 meals we had, 8 had roasts, the beef was so dry, no-one could eat it, it sort of spoiled the birthday."
  • "Food was pre cooked, cold and tasteless. Potatoes in its jacket was still frozen, waffles were cold, chicken was dry, and overcooked."
  • "The food was bland and pretty much dumped on the table. Desserts were missing items and advertised as something they definitely aren't."
  • "Dinner was not great. Food was cold. Pudding was good as they had to change mine. Short staffed but staff that are on did well."
  • "The menu is so big and assorted, I doubt anything fresh goes through the kitchen."
  • "The food was average, my meal didn't come as it should have but was still nice."
  • "Poor service on arrival - shown to a table with no menus. Went to order food and drink. They didn’t have a lot of things on their menu."
  • "Food was fairly average, steak was poor quality and way overcooked."

Service

  • "Special thanks to Christine, Leanne and James for the very warm welcome we all received on a very cold evening."
  • "Despite it being busy the staff were excellent. Lisa and Alex R behind the bar were quick and helpful throughout the whole night."
  • "Visited on Sunday 7th January 2024 with my partner and our baby. Due to staff sickness it was bookings only but the team got us a table as we are regulars."
  • "My family did a surprise birthday treat for me on my 65th, as we have been here many times. Service was good, staff brilliant."

Cons:

  • "I'd have given The Vine 5 stars but sadly the service wasn't up to scratch. There was just one lady having to cope with the bar, taking food orders and serving the food."
  • "Nice meal, but so slow service. No tables are cleared we were there for 2 hours but not one table was cleaned."
  • "The place seems a little tired, and they were short staffed. Only one person on the bar, taking drinks and food orders so people were waiting a while."
  • "Food was pre cooked, cold and tasteless. Waited 45 minutes for our sweet waitress and have no manners at all."
  • "Waited 45 minutes for a burger after being told there was a 20-30 minute wait on food maximum."
  • "Unfortunately we didn't bother having anything to eat here. Almost 5 minutes late opening up, only to be told that the chef hadn't arrived, so would be at least half an hour."
  • "Booked table, only to be turned away and told to come back four hours later, as they were short staffed in kitchen."
  • "The food was fine and the price reasonable, but unfortunately the service was poor."

  • "It was the selfishness of other diners that ruined the occasion."
  • "The food was fine and the price reasonable, but unfortunately the service was poor."
  • "Service was overly nice to begin with (short, blonde haired girl, hostess) however this changed when she was asked about missing meals."
  • "I would understand more if I approached her unacceptably but my only agenda was to politely ask for the remainder of our food."
  • "The attitude of the bar staff was so appalling, I understand that they had been through a tough Bank Holiday shift but we were customers and just treated unbelievably, it felt like it was for a prank TV show or something."
