Service

Pros:

  • "Great friendly professional staff helping to create a great atmosphere."
  • "Great friendly helpful service."
  • "The staff were amazing, attentive, friendly and accommodating."
  • "Fantastic service!"
  • "Staff were really obliging and managed to squeeze us in on a very busy morning and made sure our order was ready swiftly."
  • "Friendly and speedy service."
  • "Service is very friendly and attentive too."

Cons:

  • "Would be nice if they could figure out how to run it. Slow service, out of both menu items we requested, stupid rule about when lunch service starts."
  • "However, the place was so insanely noisy I couldn't have a conversation and left with a stress headache."
  • "Only gripe was that the combination of music and a full restaurant made things quite noisy."
  • "Breakfast over priced for what you get and compared to other establishments, no salt pepper or sugar on table so had to ask, by time arrived nearly finished. Breakfast arrived cold."
  • "Take away food very good but coffee order was initially forgotten and drowned with hot water when it came."
  • "Looks like a great location, but told to wait for a table and then ignored, even when staff offered to bring orders out to others who were waiting who arrived after us; they didn't extend the offer to us - making us feel a tad unwelcome."
  • "Our order didn't go through and we waited over 40 minutes for it."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "This is probably the tastiest restaurant in Ludlow."
  • "The starters are amazing with the olives and hummus and other things."
  • "Csons at the Green Cafe has a delicious range of internationally inspired food."
  • "Food is gorgeous."
  • "Lamb tacos, soft juicy lamb inside a crisp corn taco was beautiful, with queso fresco and other goodies."
  • "Fabulously tasty!"
  • "The pork loin was wonderful and tender."

Cons:

  • "I wanted a bit of coffee and walnut cake but they won't sell you cake to take away, asked if they could do it in a napkin but was told they couldn't."
  • "The only downside was that the bread was a little oily (on the outside) so I couldn't actually eat it as a sandwich."
  • "Unfortunately I had to send back because it was cold, 2nd attempt again only luke warm."
  • "Food was high quality but eyewateringly expensive."
  • "Food good, if a little expensive for what was served, but the small plates are SMALL!"
  • "The trendy home made beans (slight chilli flavour?) and chorizo patty were not for me, seemed put of place on a morning fry up."
  • "The food was decent albeit maybe not as hot as it could have been when brought to the table but it was delicious all the same."

Atmosphere & Location

Pros:

  • "Adjacent to Ludlow's old Bridge and in the shadow of the castle."
  • "The situation is lovely next to the river."
  • "Absolutely lovely setting next to the river. One of my favourite places in Ludlow."
  • "The view of the weir and the Castle right behind is spectacular."
  • "Located river side for me made this the perfect place to have lunch."
  • "Gorgeous setting by the river."
  • "Lovely spot on the river."

Cons:

  • "I will avoid like the plague in future as it doesn't matter if the food is good if the premises/ atmosphere let it down."
  • "Didn’t like the restaurant inside, it’s very small and lacks ambiance."
  • "Chairs and tables quite utilitarian with lots of plastic."
  • "Only negative is it’s pretty chilly indoors (sat in 2 different locations) as they serve outside and the door is open a lot."
  • "Seemed expensive for breakfast."
  • "Also, wish the menu was slightly bigger as the selection for vegetarians is quite poor but really the menu is small without the vegetarian element."
  • "The menu is almost impossible to understand with lots of unnecessarily complex terms."
