Facilities & Cleanliness

Pros:

  • "Good all round facilities and cafe."
  • "The grounds are well maintained and there were rubbish bins available to keep the place clean."
  • "Fun park was sanitized after use and sanitizer was provided before and after."
  • "The facilities were spot on, clean and accessible."
  • "Showers on site with warm water."
  • "Changing facilities clean and roomy."
  • "Camping also excellent. Basic, but perfectly adequate facilities and cosy little groups of pitches with parking next to the pitches."

Cons:

  • "They offer changing rooms on site however they are vile and don't look to be cleaned ever!!"
  • "Facilities was unacceptable, although the sign said it will be cleaned twice a day, I did not see them cleaning at all for 3 days, only topping up toilet paper."
  • "The changing rooms were only big enough for approx 10-15 people which is a problem when there are 60 people every hour for the Witbit."
  • "3 toilet and 3 shower for the entire camp site."
  • "No hot water for showers or washing up."
  • "There are no hooks to hang anything up and no storage lockers."
  • "The changing rooms associated with the waterpark were very busy, so waterpark day users were using the camping facilities an an overflow."

Staff & Customer Service

Pros:

  • "The staff are friendly & very helpful."
  • "Really helpful staff, a beautiful location and such a great choice of activities."
  • "All the rest of the staff were also very professional."
  • "Our Instructors were Lance in the first week, and Oscar in the following week, and both these guys made us both feel welcome and at ease."
  • "The staff that work the cable are super friendly and knowledgeable and that’s helped my partner improve wakeboarding ten fold."
  • "Staff were all friendly."
  • "Great customer service and the staff are super helpful when trying to learn something new."

Cons:

  • "The staff were rude as well!"
  • "Downside is people don't know how to queue and staff don't respect those that have been waiting patiently and serve those rude inconsiderate ones first."
  • "One criticism would be the staff, most seemed very unenthusiastic, cold & really not enjoying their job."
  • "The staff don’t always seem that interested in helping customers but more interested in having a chat between themselves."
  • "Plus one member of staff at the food/drinks cabin did have quite a bit of attitude."
  • "Andy the cable park manager had a really bad attitude both times."
  • "Having spoken to a “manager” with an IQ no higher than the average age of the staff “working” only to find that they were most unaccommodating with any customer concerns or issues raised."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "I thought it was good value."
  • "Fantastic value for money."
  • "Think £20 per person is good value for money and will be looking to go again in the summer."
  • "You can rent wetsuits for a decent price."
  • "The food was nice and reasonably priced."
  • "Best £15 I have ever spent."
  • "This place is good. In fact very good. And not overpriced."

Cons:

  • "This place is really overpriced!!"
  • "Parking now chargeable which is a joke, it's in the middle of nowhere and you're literally only here to spend money with them."
  • "Bit expensive for sup and canoes."
  • "Everything seemed to come with an additional charge, leaving visitors feeling ripped off."
  • "Burger stand is extortionate priced and not allowed to take own food!"
  • "The whole place is completely overrated and expensive."
  • "Food was greasy and overpriced and you are not allowed to bring a picnic!"

Parking & Accessibility

Pros:

  • "Free parking."
  • "Car parking is available at very low rates."
  • "Had such a fun day here. Loads of free parking."
  • "Great to see some much needed investment with a proper tarmac car park and food/drinks cabin."

Cons:

  • "Parking is a proper con, 2 hours is the only unit (on the just park app at least) and they tell you to arrive an hour early for a one hour session."
  • "I was surprised that we had to pay for parking, even more surprised to receive a parking fine of £50.00."
  • "It's absurd to charge visitors for parking, especially when they have already paid for an activity within the park."
  • "Park is okay but will boycott in future for charging for parking."
  • "The two £50 fines ruined the experience somewhat as it became a very expensive day out."
  • "Beware of the parking scam!"
  • "Sadly, the park choses to be associated with Countrywide Parking, who have a business model with all the morals of loan shark."

Food & Beverage Options

Pros:

  • "The onsite café opens from 9am – 8pm and does delicious food if you don’t fancy cooking."
  • "The cafe has lots of drinks and good options including deserts - the service is very friendly despite how busy they get."
  • "Food van was expensive but they had a veggie option which was appreciated!"

Cons:

  • "The onsite take away leaves a lot to be desired, over priced bland food."
  • "Few wasps around the bins which made it uncomfortable to sit and eat."
  • "And then when we had finished our activity, and were having sandwiches in the picnic area we were told that they don’t allow customers to eat their own food….. really exploiting a captive family …"
  • "However, we were disappointed with the food/drink options - you're asked not to bring picnics or outside food with you as there is a 'cafe' on site."
  • "Although the food is well overpriced for what you get."
  • "Food expensive and not allowed picnics but nice pub up road for a lot cheaper."
  • "No picnics allowed, buy our food. Etc etc."

Safety & Security

Pros:

  • "Just brilliant - well organised, good safety (many lifeguards on duty, everyone wears a buoyancy aid and has to watch the safety video)."
  • "The lifeguards were very attentive and I did feel safe with them there."
  • "Water was clean and plenty of lifeguards around so you felt safe."
  • "The staff were brilliant, rowed him to the dock, checked him over, applied an ice pack etc and asked that we email to check in with them after he'd been seen at A&E."
  • "Covid measures were sensible and consistently adhered to. Other safety measures were all in place and the park was very well staffed with plenty of lifeguards, who were vigilant and professional."

Cons:

  • "I was not impressed by the level of 'care' received once they are aware you're injured."
  • "I do feel there was a lack of life guards on duty for the amount of people there (3 life guards)."
  • "Safety guard, sitting right by my side, didn't do anything until my partner shouted on him."
  • "The only criticism I might have is that it was incredibly busy, and when the safety briefing is given, it’s given inside a hut where nobody is wearing masks."
  • "Had a great time, then tried to book this for work ( I am a support worker ) and found that there is no concessions for disabilities and the carers have to pay ( this is not inclusive ) it's unfair to penalize someone who can't do an activity without support."
  • "Nobody helping me out of water, nobody trying to take care of me."
