Menu Variety

Pros:

  • "Very diverse and interesting menu, it was difficult to pick one meal."
  • "The menu was so extensive and caters for absolutely everything."
  • "Several vegan options on the café's menu, including the vegan 'bacon' bap I had - lovely!"
  • "One of our party is gluten free which wasn’t a problem - they have a full gluten free menu."
  • "Lots of vegan options- there's a whole vegan menu."
  • "Great restaurant. Big vegan selection, lots of choice, high chairs allow dogs and friendly staff."
  • "The food was of decent quality and had a great taste to it."
  • "Bang bang chicken is very tasty and just the right portion size."

Cons:

  • "The Lounges never fail to deliver a decent service! The garlic flatbread lacked vegan butter..very dry."
  • "I ordered an avocado smash. For £8.95 (ish) I expected more than one single piece of ciabatta with avocado and one egg."
  • "Tried the halloumi burger and was very good, I highly recommend. But I was quite shocked about the carbonara pasta and their price!"
  • "Service was good, but the portions were tiny for the price."
  • "Unfortunately they had sold out of what I wanted."
  • "Also, and this is very noticeable, the portion sizes have become smaller."
  • "Ordered our food. Apparently they didn't have enough milk for milkshakes."
  • "I had the vegan breakfast without mushrooms (don't like them!) with an oat milk hot chocolate (clearly labelled, too, which was very reassuring), followed by a vegan bacon butty as I was still hungry."

Atmosphere and Decor

Pros:

  • "Fantastic experience. This place has a gorgeous venue, vibe, menu."
  • "Fantastic ambiance, we came for new years even and had a wonderful time."
  • "We went in for the fun decor, stayed for the atmosphere, and will absolutely be going back for the food."
  • "Great atmosphere with the eclectic style of decor from the old fashioned lamps with carefully chosen coloured wires, school gym style flooring and lots of interesting pictures."
  • "Loved the decor and atmosphere. We came for an early breakfast on a Sunday."
  • "Great place to catch up with a mate for a well overdue chat, and good coffee and breakfast."
  • "The whole experience was lovely, to the point where I was Googling to see where their other lounges are :-)"
  • "Brilliant place for dinner and to gather with friends. Been a few times for various dinners."

Cons:

  • "Went there yesterday 2 adults 1 child, arrived at 12.45, rushed instructions on arrival, very loud woth background music difficult to hear."
  • "The atmosphere is great - perfect for a girls' night or a date, and the food is always good. Staff are really friendly, and ordering online makes everything so easy - no waiting around!"
  • "The waiter welcomed us, asked for allergies and if it was our first time at Clio. After telling him that we were there for the first time, he left for the bar/kitchen. Not a word or introduction."
  • "First time visit. Staff were ultra laid back but also ultra attentive."
  • "My only very minor criticism is whilst waiting at the bar for a drink, there has been several occasions when there is a lack of staff on."
  • "Unfortunately, we needed to wait for our meal very long and it hasn't arrived for all of us at the same time."
  • "Service was good, but the portions were tiny for the price."
  • "One of the 'Lounges' you see scattered about the North West. The 'schwarma' was really nice; quite an exquisite combination of flavours."

Service Quality

Pros:

  • "The staff are very friendly and helpful, even 'though they were very short staffed due to illness when we visited."
  • "We were taken care of almost right away on arrival by very helpful staff."
  • "Staff were friendly and helpful. We were there for brunch (lounge eggs and pancakes), but would love to get drinks sometime in the evening."
  • "A GREAT pint, the staff are VERY friendly and helpful, EXCELLENT customer service."
  • "The staff were amazing and so accommodating as we were a large group with 2 babies."
  • "Seated quickly and asked about allergies. Breakfast was well presented and didn't need to wait long."
  • "The waiter welcomed us, asked for allergies and if it was our first time at Clio."
  • "Fantastic place. It's got a real fresh feel to it with quirky decor and very chilled music playing. The staff there could not be more polite or helpful if they tried."

Cons:

  • "The wait for your food is ridiculous 45mins. When the food comes to the table it is absolutely rubbish, totally inedible."
  • "Waitresses and Manager were all wonderful and are the only reason the review isn’t a 1! Chef overcooked steak and as it’s £17 we asked if it could be remade as it’s a lot of money for a meal we aren’t happy with."
  • "If not for the staff, they’d get zero stars from me. The soup was undersalted, asked for some water and salt 3 times and it never came."
  • "Sat for 25 minutes and ended up leaving pretty annoyed. Kids beans looked liked they had been sitting all day, all mushed together with a skin round them."
  • "We were shown to our table and advised to order at the bar. When ordering at the bar for mains and drinks payment was requested."
  • "Main course ok, waited 25 minutes after ordering pudding to be told one wasn't available."
  • "A busy restaurant with a lively atmosphere in the evening. No bookings, but we didn’t have to wait for a table on a Saturday."
  • "The service is really satisfying and the portions are large. There's also a toy section which makes it a great choice for kids."
