  • "Amazing setting, looks like an old theatre."
  • "Surprisingly nice little Wetherspoon's pub, which manages to keep some of the old picture house interior and layout while adapting it as a modern bar."

Cons:

  • "The only difference from our first visit is the exterior of the building. It looks a bit rundown and needs a bit of love and attention."
  • "Downstairs seating area wasn't clean, carpets looked and smelt like it needed a good clean."

Service

Pros:

  • "Staff are super friendly and on it, and everything feels clean."
  • "The gentleman showing people to their tables did his upmost best to accommodate us tables near each other and it is very much appreciated considering the busy hectic times they are dealing with."
  • "Staff helpful."
  • "Visited this Wetherspoons on Tues, whilst queuing where told by staff there had been a problem in the kitchen and food would be delayed for 45 mins. The staff handled this really well."
  • "Started coming in for breakfast and have met now four different staff behind the bar. Each one has been helpful and good humoured, very attentive and polite."

  • "Absolutely awful service, ordered our food at 22.10,left at 00.15 hours our 6 plates, 2 glasses and 12 empty bottles still on the table."
  • "Chaos staff didn't have a clue, asked for a children's menu was told they had run out."
  • "Being tourists from Northern Ireland we did not expect this level of service, will never use Weatherspoons again, obviously Anti Irish !!"

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Great, hot food and quick service made this a great visit."
  • "The second time I had lasagne which was very nice and not at all sloppy or runny."
  • "Had gammon and jacket potato which was very yummy."
  • "The food was fantastic! Hot plate. Perfectly cooked everything and the BEST chips from a wetherspoons ever!"
  • "The food was cooked to perfection."
  • "Curry night was lovely and well presented and surprisingly quick coming."
  • "Excellent meal.. it was very busy but food still served 20mins after ordered..."

Cons:

  • "I ordered a medium-well done steak and got a medium-rare and no one comes round to check if you're happy with your food so I didn't get to send it back."
  • "Ordered the mixed grill, tomato was fine, tasted like a tomato, sadly everything else was dire."
  • "Decided to have a curry arrived luke warm at best took back arrived reheated and just tasted remicrowaved."
  • "Had to get a refund on one of the meals as the burger had been cremated but they took the price of the 'free' drink off it, didn't apologise and didn't offer to replace."
  • "Less than one star really - a dollop of cold lasagne with half a tomato and two slices of cucumber - the meal was terrible."
  • "Shocking food! - went for hot curry on curry night - was vile!!"
  • "Food arrived cold, pretty much uncooked, was swapped for replacement dish... again pretty much uncooked chips were akin to peeled, raw potato."

Accessibility

Pros:

  • "As a wheelchair user, it's a tad difficult to manage to get around, but hardly unmanageable."
  • "They have a disabled toilet but they do have stairs leading up from the foyer to the room you watch the movie in, on road parking only."
  • "On multi levels with disabled toilet on ground floor."

Cons:

  • "Most of the tables downstairs were of the very tall kind, with tall chairs to go with them. Only a few were normal-sized."
  • "I don't think you can get wheelchairs up the step. Or if there was a ramp."
  • "Inexpensive place to eat, lovely historic surroundings. Only downside is the lack of seating on the ground floor for wheelchair users."

Value

Pros:

  • "Very reasonable priced."
  • "Would definitely come again and recommend. Great Wetherspoons."

  • "One of my local go to's, I love this place, you always know what kind of food you will get for a reasonable price."
  • "This place is one of the cleaner weatherspoons I've been to, and the history, as always, is well preserved and interesting, caters for large groups, and had a great kids menu, would definitely recommend."
  • "An excellent value for money venue if you just want good basic food with a drink."
  • "All the usual weatherspoons deals. So you can get a meal at a great price."

Cons:

  • "No complaints about the service (ordering via the app) but having ordered a 'small' fish and chips I wasn't expecting the minute meal that was put in front of me."
  • "What happened to the value meals. They don't exist any more."
  • "Menu has changed. More expensive and not as much choice. No real offers like before."
  • "I wanted 2 pints of Stella but it wasn't on the pump so I had 2 San Miguel's that were £2.75 each so that should have been £5.50 but I was charged an extra £1 more than the advertised price and I paid £6.50."
