  • "Lovely maintained pub looking out over the sea."
  • "What a revamp!! Was last here years ago and it certainly needed tlc!! This looks awesome now!"
  • "The pub itself is nice and there's a nice atmosphere but the food is very poor..."
  • "A view across the North Sea to appreciate. Nice friendly staff."

Cons:

  • "The pub itself has no car park as it has been taken up with outdoor seating."
  • "Run down, but so is Sheringham. The North Norfolk railway is worth a visit. This pub doesn't look like the photos."
  • "OK. Simply that. Views are lovely, but that's about it. Food mediocre, bland, the wait for food was over 40 minutes."
  • "This pub may appeal to a slightly older crowd as they were the only people here who seemed to like it. To be honest it is expensive, a bit boring and rather too pleased with itself."
  • "Service was excellent well done floor staff πŸ‘ food was lovely pie was delicious well meaty (I just got too much gravy on my plate (my fault should of asked for no gravy) personal choice gammon was good too but certainly recommend a try πŸ˜€"
  • "Sea views. Large pub food alright. Service okay. Toilets need modernising badly."
  • "Service was good, quick and friendly. The food. Now I am not a food expert but there are certain things for me that stand out."
  • "Food ok but service not that great tonight. Once we had ordered and received our meal no one checked to see if everything was ok."

Service and Staff

Pros:

  • "Stacey at the bar was super hospitable and really made me feel welcome which made my day."
  • "The staff were welcoming, cheerful, helpful, and very polite."
  • "Amazing service. The staff could not do any more to accommodate us despite the rest of the pub being really busy."
  • "All of the staff were absolutely superb. The location and atmosphere are great."
  • "Really impressed, it’s hard to find a pub with EVERY member of staff with the same awesome attitude towards customer service!"
  • "The staff are always friendly and efficient."
  • "Staff friendly food delicious."
  • "Staff were quite rude when asked a good question. Ordered and over an hour later it arrived."

Cons:

  • "The draught beer was flat and the food was average - very poor customer service - the waitress started to clear the plates away whilst one of our party was still eating."
  • "Staff generally looked a little scruffy and I was put off by their lack of willingness."
  • "The worst part was the attitude of the staff member.... didn't get his name, he had long hair with a ponytail.....we requested better seating as we had been assured we would have it.....he could have cared less......so we got up and left."
  • "Very disappointing I had looked online at menu first and the reviews before booking, the menu looked really good, so I booked a table for four on Easter Monday."
  • "We were disappointed, the waitress brought the wrong tonic water, no problem you would have thought. She argued with us, slammed the replacement on the table."
  • "New staff were rude, to customers as well as staff who have worked there over 10 years, got order wrong 3 times and left little girl waiting 15 mins after adults came out, ordered dairy free dessert got told dont know which is which making little girl poorly."
  • "My wife and I decided as it was a lovely Easter Monday that we would go for a walk into town, stopped for a drink at The Crown ,got chatting to bunch of lads who had traveled up from Hertfordshire on their motorbikes, they had asked how long food would take and decided it would take to long and just had drinks instead, one of them shot off and got some fish and chips[Stephenson , wife loves them], the owner then came out, was very rude, and told them that they had to eat else where and would they hurry up and finish or leave there drinks that they had just bought."
  • "Absolutely dire staff, younger lady was incredibly rude to my mother over tonic water (staff brought the wrong drink out and blamed her)"

Food and Drink

Pros:

  • "The fish finger sub roll was a bit stale I'm told but the nachos and prawn tempura were OK."
  • "Food all delicious. Side of pigs in blankets as it is nearly Christmas πŸŽ„ πŸ˜€"
  • "The lasagne itself consisted of 2 pasta slices and mince, more slop than mince and it was topped by a gooey white sauce."
  • "The Crown is clean and well laid out. It also has a very nice atmosphere."
  • "The chicken itself was lovely, but the menu massively over describes and leads to disappointment"
  • "Food was fab! Will definitely be back Thank you!"
  • "The food that I saw came out looked delicious and smelt great."
  • "We stopped here for a drink after a walk along the coast with our dogs."

Cons:

  • "Quite a few things on the menu were unavailable and portion sizes were very small especially the fries which even my 5-year-old asked for more."
  • "The steak was so chewy I couldn't eat it... for what you pay its definitely not worth it."
  • "Fried buttermilk burger had greasy burnt batter. Chips were anaemic and only just warm."
  • "The meal was the worst meal I have ever had. Do yourself a favour and go to a chip shop."
  • "We went here based on a good pub guide recommendation and the staff were really accommodating and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble!"
  • "Booked table on a Sunday as it said Sunday dinner available but when we arrived they said not doing it and to ignore the website."
  • "Came last Saturday evening with a group of friends. Thought we would try it as it's recently been took over with extensive renovations and The Crown is a pub that I used regularly. The menu is very limited which is fine but considering we had a table reservation at 7.30pm 50% of the menu was unavailable."
  • "The food was extremely disappointing, I ordered the crispy chicken strip sandwich served with chips, I sent it back straight away as the chips were cold and soggy when it came back they were nice and hot, the bread roll was very dry and when I tried to eat it, it fell apart as it was that dry so ate the chicken strips from the other half, I also noticed a lady sat near us did the same thing, my son ordered the nachos sharing platter and payed extra for the shredded beef, the bottom of the pile of nachos were solid as though they had been prepared and allowed to go cold not worth the Β£1.50 extra, the platter was not large enough for 2 people, would we go again a definate no, the only positive about the time spent here was Mikey what a wonderful young man he was so helpful and smiled all the time with every customer and deserves a pay rise, why are they advertising old menus this is miss leading"
