Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "We were seated downstairs, and it felt secluded in a good way."
  • "It has a great Ambience & plenty of food options to choose from."
  • "The atmosphere is lovely as it felt like we're in an indoor garden and I would say it is very instagram worthy."
  • "The atmosphere and design of this resturant is absolutely stunning."
  • "The restaurant was bustling and the staff were welcoming."
  • "The restaurant is really wonderful. We sit inside the cage, of which the decoration is amusing."
  • "Having booked a table inside it was a beautiful sunny evening so we asked if we could sit outside and were happily accommodated."

Cons:

  • "The downstairs seating area could do with some love and care, because upstairs looks so much nicer and seems to have a much better atmosphere as a result."
  • "The dining area to be overcrowded, hot and noisy."
  • "The restaurant though, had a lot of character. The staff, especially the maitre D, weren't the best."

Service

Pros:

  • "The service was absolutely brilliant and the food was heavenly."
  • "The service was excellent and the atmosphere warm and welcoming."
  • "Although it was full, we got our order in less time."
  • "The staff were obviously new but working very hard."
  • "Friendly and polite staff, The starters were good, we had the chicken satay and mixed platter."
  • "Excellent service and fantastic food! It was very busy due to the Bath Christmas market but the staff were still very friendly and efficient."

Cons:

  • "The service was very slow, there were plenty of staff and it was not even busy."
  • "The service was good throughout, attentive but not overbearing, but I found the dining area to be overcrowded, hot and noisy."
  • "Service however was below par in my opinion. We were left waiting for 10 minutes by the bar, having been told to wait by the person behind the bar."
  • "Food was fine but service was very poor. 20 mins after arrival our drinks arrived minus a glass! No one bothered to check if we wanted another drink or a dessert."
  • "The food was quite good and, for the first time in a long time, something marked as hot was actually hot. The service however was slow, waiting almost 45 minutes between starter and main."
  • "The food was good, but the service was slow and our waiter was unprofessional."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The food is what I’m writing the review for. It was incredible!"
  • "The food was super tasty & delicious."
  • "The Giggling Squid does not disappoint. It is really good Thai food in a lovely setting."
  • "Had a really good experience. Lamb shank Massaman was really tasty. The noodles were good too."
  • "The chicken satay is delicious. The sticky chicken is my favourite dish."
  • "The crispy slow cooked beef was a revelation. My daughter’s(3) peanut sauce chicken skewer was “sooo good, delicious and scrumptious”."
  • "The food was amazing! The honey duck and the weeping beef with one rice to share... empty plates all round."

Cons:

  • "The food was OK, nothing to write home about!"
  • "The one bite salmon was a little too complex for my undeveloped taste."
  • "Food was really good, and nice wine. Starters came out really quickly but over an hour between starters and mains."
  • "Figuring out the allergy menu was a little tricky, but overall a good experience in a lovey building!"
  • "Authenticity isn't the forte of this establishment - pad thai was way too sweet, Chicken wings were dry and over-salted."
  • "Unfortunately, the mains were mostly good, however the panang curry, which was listed as a 1 chilli dish on the menu, was extremely hot and difficult to enjoy without adding additional rice."
  • "My food tasted nice (vegan) but I don't think it was worth the hassle or money."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "The prices are pretty reasonable and the food is yummy."
  • "The cost is not very high."
  • "Very tasty selection of food. However they were out of sticky chicken when I went so could not order what I wanted!"
  • "I found the food was alright, not the best I’ve had but the atmosphere made up for that."
  • "The food was decent and satisfied our craving for Thai, but lacked the full flavor that we are used to back home and was a little on the pricey side."
  • "We had a 3 course meal and I can't fault any of it."
  • "Always delicious food. Online ordering nice and easy. Ready for collection on time."

Cons:

  • "Lastly, although prices were decent, I think that if you’re going to charge the better part of £20 for a main then SIDES SHOULD BE INCLUDED."
  • "The one main arrived… but this meal was now the meal of our neighbour! We were very hungry so started eating but I quickly realised, mine was not the dish I had ordered as it included prawns… which I cannot eat."
  • "We had the sharing platter which is great if you are looking for a light bite. We also had the honey duck and the weeping beef with one rice to share... empty plates all round."
  • "I found my portions a bit too small."
  • "I imagine it would be better if fresh as the sauce was tasty. Prawn crackers were also missing from the order."
  • "Overpricedfor all you get. The a £14 portion of curry, with no rice was way too small for that price and i left feeling hungry."
  • "I have respect for places that say costs have increased and we need to charge more. Fair enough, but I don't ever expect to pay the same for less."
