Facilities and Cleanliness
Pros:
"Full size olympic competition pool for serious fitness and training but then a massive fun pool with huge slides, water jets a tidal river and family sized gecuzi, supervised by fully trained life guards with up dated medical training at every level excellent."
"The changing village was good, generally clean and lots of free cubicles and lockers."
"The changing facilities are spacious and immaculately clean and tidy - I was really impressed."
"Recently had an upgrade in the gym and there is now plenty more workout stations (especially free weights and squat racks) and facilities to use."
"Large pool with variety of slides, lazy river, Jacuzzi and water features."
"Entertainment in the pool for all ages. I love the lazy River. Kids loved everything."
"The classes are great as well with lots of choice."
Cons:
"The facilities are good but the cleanliness has gone downhill since they have increased the amount of people allowed in."
"Some of the lockers don't work. My last visit, I had to try 3 before I could get one to lock."
"Other very inappropriate activities take place in the changing rooms when there are literal children and families present."
"Defo not recommendable was, give fake information on sign up."
"Pool was very cold and the chlorine levels were high that our skin hurt."
"You now have to either bring your own padlock for lockers or buy one for £5."
"Parking can be a problem if the adjacent venues (white water and ice rink) have events on."
Staff and Customer Service
Pros:
"Gym staff top notch, Lauren and air on fantastic behind the bar and Paul senior cleaner a breath of fresh air."
"The staff are friendly and helpful."
"Great facilities, friendly and helpful staff."
"Staff are generally really friendly and always say hello."
Cons:
"Customer service is abysmal... Asked for refund of the place that I'd booked, was told that neither the receptionist nor her manager was able to do this..."
"However very rude staff, unapproachable, blunt and just not very helpful. They all need training in people skills."
"The lifeguards were rude."
"The pool was nice, but the staff cleaning the cubicles were generally rude."
"Lifeguards however didn't seem to want to be there."
"They never answer the phone, so won’t allow to amend a booking, when they finally answer an email, just palm you off with t&c and refuse to help."
"Staff are not much friendly and seems they are forced to work there."
Accessibility and Convenience
Pros:
"First time visiting the pool with my children. parking was easy access was good, changing room were clean and well maintained, pool was incredible children loved it."
"There is a need to encourage and support all types of people to use these facilities."
"Booking online was easy."
"You can purchase hour sessions online which is a good idea as the more popular sessions fill up quickly."
"Pre-booking is a must, with dedicated numbers per session."
Cons:
"They seem to allow too many people in to a session. The queues for the slides are very long and the pool is crowded."
"The leisure pool doesn't open until 11am at the weekend."
"No adequate public transport to the venue for outter City visitors."
"The online booking system is useless. The leisure centre website says there’s space when the booking site doesn’t."
"Hard to find opening times on website and information is poorly displayed when you do find it."
"Car parking is the only big problem not enough room for important meetings."
"Telephoned pool trying to find out times but phone was put down on me 5 times ......EXTREMELY RUDE !!!!!!!!!"
Value for Money
Pros:
"We've always come to this pool, but they turn most of the features off at a certain time, and give you a £1 off entry as a result."
"Great pool for the price."
"Very reasonably priced. Paid £42 for 4 adults 3 children."
"Cost to get in very reasonable."
"Came here with children, prices for a swim were reasonable."
"It was £12ish for a family ticket, which is not bad value."
"Really enjoyable at a reasonable price! Small splash area for younger children with a slide. A lazy river, 3 long slides plus a space bowl slide. Great fun!"
Cons:
"Shocking! They have upped the prices to £7.50 for an hours swim!"
"Also they seem to raise prices mid period of fixed 12 month contracts which was something i was unaware of at the beginning."
"The water was not as warm as expected. The prices have gone up."
"It also seems expensive for just an hours swim when you can be queuing 15 minutes a time for one slide."
"The prices have gone up."
"I would say that the price for entry was a little on the steep side but we got 10% discount on entry because we were staying with A Space in the City."
"Only negative is the cost. Places like these should be cheaper."
