Quality of Rooms

Pros:

  • "The rooms were just so nice and cosy."
  • "The rooms and attention to detail was so nice."
  • "Room was perfect, very clean and stylishly 'country house' decorated."
  • "Rooms were clean and stylish clean."
  • "Very comfortable room."
  • "Room was above main door way, was abit noisy. However can’t fault the fixtures and bed in the room, was very cosy."
  • "The room we had was lovely and the bed very comfortable."

Cons:

  • "The room was small, but clean."
  • "Room was small and the bed awkwardly placed so you had to climb over your sleeping partner if you wanted to go to the toilet in the night."
  • "The double room took up most of the room and was squeezed against the window which is not a problem if you are a sole traveller like me but can be if you are couple and with two sets of luggage."
  • "The room itself is nicely decorated and comfortable bed but the hotel is on a junction between 2 busy main roads and the traffic noise kept me awake."
  • "The room was very quiet and I wasn’t disturbed at all."

Quality of Food

Pros:

  • "Breakfast was cooked by order as well as continental."
  • "The breakfast choice is so good and freshly made, best breakfast I've had in a long time."
  • "Breakfast was lovely, the fish and chips we had at lunch was really nice too."
  • "Having sampled breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings we found the food of excellent quality."
  • "Breakfast was delicious and lovely waitress was so attentive and welcoming."
  • "Absolutely delicious pork roulette Sunday roast! Perfect with a glass of rose and a side of cauliflower cheese!"
  • "The food was good, the pub has recently been renovated, it has a nice ambience, very cosy and is spotless."

Cons:

  • "Staff were fantastic and helpful with booking and serving meals and drinks. There was 6 of us and a baby. We all agreed the food was well below par."
  • "Venue was nice enough and service was friendly and polite. However, the food fell short at £24 per head for a buffet catering for 13 people."
  • "We ordered 6 mains, 4 roast beef and 2 children’s meals. After some time a member of staff came over and told us that they had run out of roast beef."
  • "The chicken arrived and there was no breast meat only wings, thighs and leg and the stuffing was processed and cold."
  • "We came for Sunday lunch whilst on holiday. It was really disappointing, I ordered the roast chicken as it was advertised as having bread sauce and sausage meat stuffing my absolute favourites. Neither arrived with the meal so I questioned it."
  • "Ordered lunch on a Sunday. The pub is in a great location and has lovely outdoor seating. Ordered the following: Bread and oil - the beer bread was lovely and soft. The focaccia was incredibly stale and rock hard. The “selection of oils” was one oil and one vinegar."
  • "Considering the prices i would of thought that both me and my mum would enjoy the food here, however the meat was extremely chewy, the potatoes were almost certainly microwaved from frozen (aunt Bessie's are still much nicer!) And we were also not served one of our side dishes until wed almost finished the rest of our meal."
