Location & Scenery

Pros:

  • "It is situated in beautiful location."

  • "Fantastic views of the mountains and small car park. Well worth a visit to this quaint barn!"

Cons:

  • "Drive to the area to visit this specifically. Unfortunately was disappointed. Expected a country pub with decent food but is basically a national trust cafe with nothing attached to it."
  • "Lunch menu pretty poor and for the love of God make sure you follow the sat Nov properly to get there or will have the most terrifying journey."
  • "Be warned if you continue along the same road it reduces to single track with difficult terrain!"
  • "It is hard to get there, as you have a huge parking just behind, but no signs for the parking."

Food Quality

  • "The food was delicious, lovely sourdough toast, loved the peacamole idea."
  • "The shashshuka, lamb burger, chicken pancakes and loaded fries were absolute standouts."

Cons:

  • "The food here doesn't seem as good as it used to be before the National Trust took over."
  • "There's too many vegan options tbh, takes up most of the menu- there was only one non-vegan burger option, and it was rather expensive."
  • "Small portions and expensive for what it a toasted sandwich £11 each (served with a portion of coleslaw)."
  • "Food menu is extremely limited."
  • "The food was a total disappointment. Very expensive £11.50 for sausage and chips very small portion looked like a kids meal and not very nice."
  • "Since The National Trust took over what you get on the plate is a mixture of cold soggy ingredients put together by someone who never knew what a stove or a cooking pan are, nevermind the spices..."
  • "The choice of food on offer is truly awful since the national trust took control."
