  • "Couldn't fault the food it was great."
  • "The food was for pub grub some of the best I've had."

Cons:

  • "New chef must be straight out of Wetherspoons, as the food has previously gone down hill."
  • "The menu was a bit limited. I had the chicken, leek & bacon pie which was ok but could have done with more gravy."
  • "I don’t know how, but the crumble was watery as well, Frozen and reheated?"
  • "We ordered starters and out of the 7 only two were nice. Our soups were cold and the crab starter bread was stale."
  • "The food was poor. We had fish and chips which wasn't good at all."
  • "Poor quality of food. It was disgusting when it finally came. Had to send mine back to the kitchen."
  • "The food was good but the roast potatoes did taste a bit like they had been double cooked."

Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "Good atmosphere, friendly staff, patrons, were a mix of young and old and all were friendly enough- went on Friday evening and bar was busy enough to create an atmosphere without being too packed that you couldn't hear yourself chat."
  • "The staff are very friendly."
  • "Excellent customer service at the bar, good range of drinks for all - very well made cappuccino too … which is unusual for a pub!"
  • "The staff were fantastic! Very friendly and attentive but run off their feet."
  • "We were greeted by Georgia who was bubbly, welcoming and great at her job."
  • "Staff excellent, in particular Susie our waitress."
  • "The staff were friendly and attentive, and the pub very busy which I find is always a good sign."

Cons:

  • "Well shame on them don't want business will not be returning and rude."
  • "Very bad experience. After spending more the 100£ the manager get so upset with us cause we had a sandwich purchased in a different place."
  • "You’re only as good as your management - absolutely rubbish."
  • "But i just can't understand that an establishment has such rude staff. None of them smiled all night, stood there on their phones."
  • "The Managers were not helpful and so rude with all of the families."
  • "In the pub tonight and the service is atrocious, good luck with getting a smile, a please, or a thankyou from the bearded barman."
  • "The staff's behaviour was unprofessional, intrusive, and simply beyond rude."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "Friendly staff, nice food, reasonable prices... but two weeks after visiting I got a £100 parking change in the post for parking in the pubs car park?!"
  • "Not overly priced but expect maybe a little bit more for my money."
  • "Get down the woolpack you won't be disappointed with reasonable prices too."
  • "All in all good service and not to pricey."
  • "Food is nice, but a little pricey, even with the current state of affairs."
  • "Great food with a good choice."
  • "Good clean surroundings, fast service, polite staff."

Cons:

  • "On top of that the prices are so inconsistent it's painful!! The same round of drinks can be £9, £10, £10.50 pick a number and charge the customer that!!!"
  • "The accommodation however was a disgrace! We paid £86 for the room which didn't include breakfast, so in total we paid approx £140 to stay for one night, for that amount I would expect a fairly nice room."
  • "I'm sorry but 4 small cocktail size sausages half wrapped in bacon with spoonful of gray is not work £4.95!"
  • "And although the roast beef was delicious again £16.95 for two slices of beef and two roast potatoes is a travesty."
  • "The price is not justifiable and was extremely disappointed."
  • "I paid £25 for an 8oz steak, few chips, couple of tomatoes and a slack hand full of watercress."
  • "Might need to specify what wine or spirits you want or you'll get charged for the most expensive one they have."

  • "The room was TINY! you couldn't swing a cat, completely dated and dirty... marks up the walls and furniture damaged and worn."
  • "The condition of the toilets was utterly disgusting."
