Food Quality and Variety
Pros:
"I find the food to be absolutely amazing, absolutely worth the slightly higher price. All locally sourced and sooo tasty."
"Great food and relaxed atmosphere. Fab pizza. The kids Loved the massive pizzas and milkshakes."
"Amazing food, great selection of cakes, good list of wines and beers - gem of a place right on one of the most beautiful Torbay beaches."
"Had a fabulous lunch here today, such a great variety of food and all very tasty."
"Both had the Cantina Burger, pint of lager and a J20 (£40) more than we would usually pay but not your usual burger!"
"I had the special, bbq pork with noodles, fresh coriander and sesame seeds and it didn't disappoint, bursting with flavour and freshness."
"Food is presenting the best of local, fresh and sustainable ingredients."
"The food is amazing. Korean lamb chops with salad and beautiful spicy cucumber strips."
Cons:
"Got the gluten free Cauliflower steaks wow what a disappointment it was, still hard not cooked very well not worth the £14."
"Unfortunately the St Ewe poached eggs were terrible. They were hard boiled, not even gooey in the middle."
"However my mojito was very disappointing £6.50, cocktail bar prices but not made to cocktail bar standards."
"Came here for lunch, standard of food was fine. But the prices for quality or quantity were poor in my opinion."
"I had the crab salad which read well on the menu but was let down by a lack of seasoning.. there was none and by the fact everything was sweet."
"The food is way too overpriced for what they offer. One of my party had halloumi fries but they were more like halloumi bricks. Way too big for one person."
"Fabulous! Perfect small portion of fish and chips for lunch, beautifully cooked and presented. Update (July 2020) - sadly, they no longer do the smaller "lunch" portions of fish & chips."
"So we go to cantina regularly however please beware now..to have a glass of sauvignon blanc 250ml will set u back £10.00 a glass absolutely shocking..and more than a cocktail.."
Service and Atmosphere
Pros:
"Very dog friendly, team are so friendly and recognise you from visit to visit."
"Service was a bit slow, hence 4 stars. Well worth a visit."
"Great summer vibe with activities for children including an entertainer and outdoor badminton net set up in the garden."
"The service was friendly and welcoming, Track and trace was strongly encouraged and mask wearing was enforced in areas necessary."
"The service is welcoming and the setting is idyllic, in the middle of a park, next to Goodrington Beach, with plenty of inside and outside seating."
"We arrived at 11:35, knowing that breakfast finished at 11:45... I asked the lady who was making coffee if we would still be able to order from the breakfast menu and she assured me that we would."
"Relaxed atmosphere great coffee and lunch. Chilled wine has gone down a treat."
"Great atmosphere and food but appalling choice of beers on offer. One draught lager and TWO draft ciders but NO bitter!"
Cons:
"Service was a bit slow, hence 4 stars."
"However, we were then told that the chef would not allow this. It was still only 11:42 when we were stood at the counter to order."
"Mixed feelings, we enjoyed our food which was served promptly and hot. All tasted good too, though maybe a little bit pricey."
"We arrived at 11:35, knowing that breakfast finished at 11:45... However, we were then told that the chef would not allow this."
"Great food - Disappointing service. We arrived at 7 and planned to have food and drinks... Secondly, a friend of us was late, and when he was to order food they told us the kitchen was closed."
"Lousy service. We went in there Friday 5th August 2022 just before 8pm... They could see we came in and settled at a table and yet did not advise us that they would stop serving shortly."
"Closed on a Sunday!! The food can be great but the service is shocking. Takes ages to get served and they don't take cash!"
"My self and my three year old son visited mid week while it was slightly busy, there seemed to be a wait for food, so when I got to the till to order some food and drinks I asked how long the wait would be for pizzas as it was very hot and I didn't want to keep my son in the heat for too long. I asked politely and the response from the lady at the till was extremely rude and made me feel quite silly for asking, her response was 'however long it takes to make a pizza' it was said with an attitude and loudly so other customers could hear, I found it embarrassing, not the best customer service."
