Beach and Seaside Experience

Pros:

• "Beautiful beach and country walks nearby."
• "The beach is very clean and some nice small shops to buy drinks, ice cream and of course fish and chips 🍟"
• "A vast clean and tidy beach, where you can walk North to Marske."
• "The beach is around a 10 minute walk from the train station and there is a little cable car/tram to help people get up and down to the beach front."
• "Beautiful beach, amazing both when it's high and low tide. It's lovely and sandy, so the kids love to play in the sand."
• "Lovely beach clean the right half of the beach dogs are allowed which is the right side of the pier and left side no dogs allowed beach looks like it goes all way to Redcar plenty of places to eat and get refreshments small amusement arcade on pier."

• "Driving down towards the beach felt a bit dangerous (sharp curves) so needs extra care to drive on a rainy day."
• "Unfortunately when I arrived the beach and pier were covered in fog and the temperature was only 16C."
• "Great views especially from the pier, small beach and not really dog friendly, but if you go further down you can allow your four legged friend to join and play in the water."
• "Sewage in the sea! I did not know about the high amounts of sewage in the sea, both kids covered in rashes after playing in it."

Facilities and Amenities

Pros:

• "There are public toilets as well. Just a wonderful place to go."
• "The victorian carriage ride is very quaint, and lovely views heading up to the top of the cliff."
• "The funicular tramway is a 1 in 4 incline that travels 120 feet from top to bottom and costs £1.60 each way per person."

• "At the bottom funicular station, there are public toilets, which were clean and in good order and free to use."
• "Lovely beach its has it all. It won't disappoint. Just be careful parking is usually hard to get but go past parking right near pier and there are more further down the coast."
