Beach and Seaside Experience

Pros:

  • "The beach is around a 10 minute walk from the train station and there is a little cable car/tram to help people get up and down to the beach front."
  • "Beautiful beach, amazing both when it's high and low tide. It's lovely and sandy, so the kids love to play in the sand."
  • "Lovely beach clean the right half of the beach dogs are allowed which is the right side of the pier and left side no dogs allowed beach looks like it goes all way to Redcar plenty of places to eat and get refreshments small amusement arcade on pier."
  • "Lovely long, long beach to walk along. Sit on the beach to eat your fish and chips. Lick a sticky toffee ice cream, what more could you want."
  • "Saltburn is lovely, not a lot to do but very pretty with a lovely clean beach, some decent cafes and fish n chips of course."

Cons:

  • "Driving down towards the beach felt a bit dangerous (sharp curves) so needs extra care to drive on a rainy day."
  • "Unfortunately when I arrived the beach and pier were covered in fog and the temperature was only 16C."
  • "Great views especially from the pier, small beach and not really dog friendly, but if you go further down you can allow your four legged friend to join and play in the water."
  • "Sewage in the sea! I did not know about the high amounts of sewage in the sea, both kids covered in rashes after playing in it."
  • "Place seemed overrun by irresponsible dog owners, who left their mark (like, piles of it) everywhere. Pavements, beach every bl**dy where."
  • "Parking a nightmare can only park for 2 hours max. Hard to walk from top of road to bottom and back again as lift in the picture is not in use."
  • "The only snag is, the car parks are often full by midday."
  • "Looked tired, uncared for and depressing. The pay and display meters in the car park only take coin, not cards which visitors were finding inconvenient."
