Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "From the minute you arrive you're greeted by the ever-helpful, smiling hostess Deborah who makes sure you have a fantastic night from start to finish."
  • "The staff are fabulous, always attentive and friendly."
  • "The gig was excellent and the sound man, Justin, is so good that I didn't even have to tell him what I needed in my monitor."
  • "Deborah, the host at the events, does an amazing job – she greets you on the door like a good friend."
  • "The staff are a big part of what makes or breaks an experience and we were lucky enough to get an amazing waitress called Anna."
  • "The service was excellent and the team were amazing. Big shout out to Deborah who really went over and above to make sure our first experience here was amazing."

Cons:

  • "Service very slow although the restaurant was only half full."
  • "I felt the tables were too packed in and close together, more so than the website photos suggest."
  • "No further drink, desserts or coffees offered. Finally gave up trying to attract the attention of the waiters for further orders, just got the bill and left."
  • "Tables are crammed closely together to fit as many people in as possible and so you feel it being all about money more than an individual's experience."
  • "Service was pleasant, but they did not have the spiced rum or any of the other ingredients to make this particular cocktail, which was on the menu."

Food and Menu

Pros:

  • "Great food. I'm lactose and gluten intolerant so, before the show, I ate a pizza with chicken which was 10/10."
  • "As for the food at Pizza Express, it was absolutely perfect, good choice on the menu and very good value for money."
  • "The pizzas were great, the venue is intimate with great sound."
  • "Food Pizza Express pizzas, which personally I find delicious."
  • "The food was limited in its variety and quality. The service was a little lacking. However, the act more than made up for the short comings."

Cons:

  • "This is the classic pizzeria atmosphere with real passionate authentic Italian people who know pizza and how to prepare and serve it."
  • "The pizzas were overcooked - not just mine but several I saw."
  • "I don't understand how a bar isn't properly stocked on any night, let alone a music event night."
  • "The food was good (standard Pizza Express fare)."
  • "I think they struggle feeding that many people at once and don't bother checking the quality. We spent £85 in total (hi service charge!) and were not impressed."

Live Music and Entertainment

Pros:

  • "Always love this venue for intimate live music."
  • "Great programme of live music and really reasonably priced menu. Definitely worth a visit."
  • "The most amazing venue for unique live music. Went to see a Pink Floyd tribute. Absolutely brilliant."
  • "Fantastic evening, firstly the pizzas were great, the venue is intimate with great sound, we went to see Liv Austen and Mollie Marriott band who were both superb, couldn't have wished for a better evening!"
  • "The music was sensational. One of the things that I have to point out is a lady by the name of Deborah; as far as customer service and treating people the right way, Deborah has this down to a tee."

Cons:

  • "Nice intimate venue but I hate when people are constantly talking whilst Artists are performing. It's so disrespectful."
  • "Felt that we needed more staff towards the end of the show to sort the bills faster but all in all a delightful experience, would recommend it but find out more about the performance because they differ in content every time."
  • "The major gripe was the food though. My veggie pizza was burned from the bottom, had almost no vegan cheese on it and had ONE cherry tomato."
  • "My husband and I were there for the Nashville Meets London gig, with Noah Guthrie and Liv Austin performing. The gig itself was absolutely incredible."
  • "Dark, claustrophobic and no atmosphere. Some performers such as cabaret singers - where creating a strong connection with the audience is crucial - would find it a difficult room to play."
