  • "Very good location. Decor standard and food good but not spectacular."
  • "It’s worth noting that vegans as well as vegetarians are catered for and they have a prominent list of major allergens for their cakes."
  • "The court yard was so beautiful."

Cons:

  • "If I had one criticism, as it was December, and quite cold, I’d fit some sort of door closing device."
  • "Took over 30 minutes for a coffee, milkshake and a piece of cherry pie."
  • "One of the women in the cafe was rude and nasty she made a few comments about children that were in the cafe."
  • "Dog friendly not very child friendly although high chair with no straps!! So dangerous."
  • "Cheap and nasty cups, glassware, cutlery just added to the feeling of sub standard dining."
  • "Service may turn away repeat custom."
  • "Very poor, wouldn't go there again."
  • "Absolutely rubbish. Google maps said they are open until 5. Turned up at 4:10 to be informed they had 'they had just decided to close'."

Staff & Service

Pros:

  • "The staff are always friendly and accommodating."
  • "The coffee was really nice, not sure what it was called but excellent! The list of cakes was just mouth watering."

  • "Staff warm and friendly and owners super accommodating."

Cons:

  • "The woman who came with our drinks just shouted 'I need to put these down somewhere and you need to pay now'."
  • "Had to ask four times for hot water until they brought it, they still never brought a knife for the toast when asked."
  • "Waitress service was a bit poor. When asked what cakes they had she replied 'loads'."
  • "Not sure why! Maybe because of our skin colours, or accents.. All other families/couples were white, middle class, middle aged."
  • "The staff acted as if they were doing us a favour by doing any work. Asked for ice water, didn’t get it."
  • "We were finally led to a dirty table by a very surly girl who walked away as soon as we sat down."
  • "Just had breakfast and was very disappointed staff friendly but why do you use cheap sausages with all the great meat producers in Yorkshire."
  • "Service was distinctly average - disorganised service."

Food Quality & Variety

Pros:

  • "The food is good quality, well cooked and there is plenty of choice."

  • "We enjoy coming here for an early Breakfast bun. The coffee is fantastic too."
  • "Great for gluten free options and also several vegan options would definitely recommend as a coeliac."

Cons:

  • "Plate was super hot so be careful. I probably wouldn't put salad leaves on such a hot plate either."
  • "The salad could be better (bulk frisee salad and half a tiny tomato) the Mississippi mud pie wasn't the right thing."
  • "I had the American style pancakes which were ok, bacon was a touch too crispy for me though."
  • "Nice atmosphere and good service. Kippers excellent and probably the best tried on the East coast."
  • "Three stars, I've never given somewhere three stars. It's not bad, it's just not good either."
  • "Food is good quality, but table was sticky and waitress service was a bit poor."
  • "£11.50 for a breakfast that was completely tasteless."
  • "The rarebit was awful! Like a paste from those tins of toast toppers in cans, slightly toasted bread and the bacon was closer to living than crispy!!"
