  • "Our food was cold, my friend that was with me asked if her food could be warmed up so it was put in the microwave but it still was not hot."
  • "The choice for breakfast was very limited and quality of food wasn't great, bacon had clearly been sat there for quite some time as it was very hard."
  • "Also Thursdays they offer any pizza for £8.99 but ‘due to operational issues’ there’s apparently no pizza!"
  • "Very unhappy with our experience today, veg choices were limited and the meat portions where shocking."
  • "The breakfast was very poor. Beans were cold, bacon was cold."

Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "Chelsea was extremely informative and advised us of all the deals on offer with her bubbly personality."
  • "The carvery gent was a star - responding to the children's wolf sounds."
  • "Dave, the manager was really helpful & attentive."

  • "Great service all the times we visit and especially today from a lovely barmaid called Chelsea."

Cons:

  • "Staff were rude and unbothered. Place was a mess. Clearly short staffed."
  • "Didn't see a single member of staff to be able to let them know."
  • "Service was shocking, waited 20 minutes in a line for carvery and my partner and 3 children waited 40 minutes for there food from the back."
  • "Really need to change management. He was obnoxious and rude to his staff in front of customers."
  • "Terrible. Third time in a row we have had bad customer experience."
  • "Staff were very rude, I spoke with a member of staff who just grunted at me when I said I has a reservation."
  • "We got there to what can only be described as someone who just seems utterly miserable in their job."

Facility and Cleanliness

Pros:

  • "Plenty of parking space, well lit."
  • "Place was clean, seats were comfy."
  • "Place is very clean. Went in Wednesday for few drinks when they opened and the cleaners did a fantastic job."
  • "For a family of 7 for Christmas lunch we had the smallest table possible."
  • "The staff were so accommodating of all of us, friendly and welcoming, from allowing us to all sit together, to insuring that our intolerances were catered for."
  • "Places is very clean and tidy."
  • "On entering we were greeted warmly at the bar, ordered the carvery and drinks and found a table, everywhere was clean and tidy."

Cons:

  • "Found the decor and toilets a little tired."
  • "Main problem here was the pub was really grubby ie walls splattered with looked like gravy wallpaper torn."
  • "Mushrooms cost 59p extra and the place felt run down with torn up seats and a very noisy ice cream machine etc."
  • "Place needs a good clean up and redecoration. Wall paper peeling, and seat covers completely worn through."
  • "I felt the venue itself looks tired and needs some TLC and updating."
  • "I visited the disabled toilet on the way out...it was not a pleasant experience and definitely needs a good clean."
  • "If anyone is cleaning the pub then they clearly need to be shown how to clean properly because everywhere looks dirty especially the disabled toilet which I used as I have disabilities."

Value and Pricing

Pros:

  • "It’s also reasonably priced."
  • "Not much was great although the bar staff were friendly and helpful and we didn’t wait long to get served."
  • "16 quid for 2 adults and you can have as much as you like. You won't get that value within a 2 minute walk of home."
  • "Excellent value for money."
  • "Great visit and fantastic value for food and drink."
  • "The food was very good and very well priced."
  • "An overall good experience. We were able to book a table for 10 people on a Sunday afternoon with no problem."

Cons:

  • "There was only one meat option when I paid for regular meal so should have more than one meat choice."
  • "No cavery as they had run out of meat."
  • "Poor choice of meat. Gammon ok, turkey almost gone and beef very fatty and grisly."
  • "This place used to be the best Sunday carvery going, stone house have ruined it I’m afraid, not enough staff, foresight to cook enough food even though you operate a booking system and letting people pay for food that you don’t even have."
  • "And all for £30+. Two kids & 2 adults. 2 minutes round the corner we could have had it freshly cooked to order for under £20."
  • "They'd ran out of plates to start with so had to wait for that and also pretty bad when you pay for a carvery and they run out of veg it was only 6.30 pm on a Tues eve and not very busy."
  • "If you run out of meat on the carvery and you know people have booked a table, it would be nice to call them to warn them of the situation before they take the effort to turn up very disappointed like in our case!!!"
