  • "Popped in here for a pint on a rugby Wales Scotland weekend and they shut the bar on us all for singing Welsh songs."

  • "Bad service (didn't bat an eye at two untouched dishes)."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The haggis, neeps and Tatties with whisky gravy (great portion and great taste)."

  • "The food was great."
  • "The chicken/haggis were delicious, especially with the whisky sauce poured over it!"

  • "The food was delicious and perfectly cooked and seasoned."

Cons:

  • "The veggies it came with were just boiled and absolutely tasteless."
  • "Food was ok but we were very disappointed to find when we asked for a little more sauce with the chicken, which otherwise was very dry."
  • "I opted for beef, but it wasn't anything special, it was no better than my attempt at home which isn't great considering the price."
  • "Menu said homemade roast dinner (5 carrots piece of broccoli 3 small frozen potatoes and a small yorkshire pudding) plus a small piece of chicken. It was not worth the money at all. Very poor all frozen."
  • "The food unfortunately was pretty poor however with the burger (beef Rob Roy ordered) was entirely flavourless and cardboard dry) and the kids macaroni left partially eaten because it was equally unappetising."
  • "The food was the only let down... it was a bit bland and not very well presented."
  • "The food was tasteless and horrid- uncooked vegetables, burnt caramel, poorly cooked gnocchi, and the worst French fries."

Value

Pros:

  • "It was reasonably priced. I would recommend a visit."

  • "Good value for money."

Cons:

  • "The only thing that let it down slightly was the cost. It's quite expensive, but you'd expect that from a Rose Street pub."
  • "Bit expensive for what it is. 5er for a Guinness and the barman was missing for 10 minutes since I walked in."
  • "We were charged £3 for this. This doesn’t seem very much, but it makes the difference between us returning or recommending or not."
  • "Only down side is meal size was a bit on the small size."
  • "Sadly I got fomo over my parters beef roast, I had the chicken and had to order more chips."
