Beach and Coastline
Pros:
"One of the most beautiful areas in England. The walks, the beaches, the sea in this area are just so lovely."
"One of my favourite places in England. Godrevy seems to go on for miles."
"Very lovely unspoilt beach, lots of Surfers enjoying the waves."
"Golden sands, clear water, epic cliff top views and not over crowded."
"What a spectacular beach, even on a wet Wednesday in August this beach has everything you’d want."
"The beach is absolutely stunning! I went there during the evening in July when the tide was low."
"This is such a wonderful national trust sight..its very relaxing..you can get ice creams here and use toilet here."
Cons:
"Access with a pram is hard from the top field car park, you’d ideally want to drop off at the first carpark (near the cafe) and then park!"
"Of course the paths are uneven and rocky/dusty so mind your step and bring sunglasses if possible."
"Though unfortunately when I walked past on a rainy June day, the lifeguards were barely taking any notice of the water and just chatting to each other."
"The lovely beach near the lighthouse is a little tricky with one of the paths to get to."
"Rocks before you get to the sand beach which can be a pit precarious to walk on so be careful."
"It's a bit of an uneven climb down to the beach and no disabled access."
"Beautiful but rugged - amazing sunsets and wildlife but access to the beach is steep - not recommended for toddlers or disabled."
Parking and Accessibility
Pros:
"The field car parks were very busy, but parking was easy."
"National trust so parking is charged but a small price to pay to have this gem properly looked after."
"Plenty of parking, nice walks with views of the lighthouse."
"Good amount of parking if the fields are opened up."
"It's national trust run so if you have a membership it's free parking."
"There is always a place to park here, plus if you are a National Trust member the car park is free."
"Several national trust carparks.£6 per day.NT members free."
Cons:
"Views are wonderful, but main drawback was that you have to pay both for entrance and parking."
"Parking can be expensive if you're not a National Trust member."
"Only downside was parking stopped being monitored at 5pm and we still had to pay the £5 all day rate even though we arrived at 3:30pm."
"The only downside for me was the cost of the parking! £3 for 2 hours or £6 pound for the day."
"The parking is expensive £3 for 2 hours at the café and the national trust charge £6... Rather steep I feel..."
"Parking all day for non National Trust members was £6."
"The parking cost is extremely high. I don't understand how they can justify it."
Wildlife and Natural Beauty
Pros:
"Make sure you take a binoculars with you to see the seals around the lighthouse island."
"It's an amazing sight to see that there are Seals safely enjoying their own piece of the UK coastline."
"Always a special place to visit. Just being there watching the sunset or sunrise with the lighthouse as a backdrop listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks."
"You can see seals on the beach from the cliff top."
"Stunning piece of coastline. If you're lucky you can see seals basking on the beach in mutton cove."
"Spectacular views!! Godrevy beach is located at the far end of St Ives Bay, walking around the cliff you will spot marine sea life, we saw dolphins and sea lions."
"Can see seals (if you're fortunate enough). This time we saw them on the beach and playing around in the water."
Cons:
"Sadly like most beautiful places in Cornwall you need to keep your eyes open for all the 'doggy presents' that are kindly left by their loving owners!!!"
"On a downside the public toilets near the lifesaver station were closed. Why? And what are you supposed to do? - Ridiculous!"
"Amazing place to see seals, shame a few people have bad manners with dogs as they scare the seals, even though it is signed everywhere for quiet."
"I must mention in certain places at the top there is no fencing to stop dogs going over, you must put your dog on a lead at this point there has been far too many dogs who have sadly died there."
"Electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters with small wheels may find the going a bit tough with the stones."
"Very (very) busy 'in season' so avoid at peak times if you want to stay sane."
"Horrendous amounts of traffic all trying to squeeze through single-track roads to the NT car parks."
Facilities and Amenities
Pros:
"The rockpool cafe which does nice food and drinks."
"Toilet facilities well kept and a added bonus as were unexpected."
"The beach cafe had an impressive menu."
"There is a lovely café at the entrance to Godrevy, this closes at 3pm during summer months."
"A public loo near the main car park and a Cornish ice cream van if you’re into a summer treat."
"Clean toilet facilities and an ice cream van was there when we visited."
"Lovely cafe by main car park."
Cons:
"The only downside is the lack of public toilets which are right at the far end from the main car park and not an easy walk with a pushchair."
"Only downside is toilets are a decent step from the beach."
"There are no toilets on site so best to go on empty, enjoy the walk and you can get a great view of Godrevy lighthouse."
"There are no baby changing facilities in the male or female toilets."
"Unfortunately, on this occasion, we had to wait a very long time for it, and there was nobody ahead of us waiting for food!"
"The coffee shop does some great food, a bit overpriced and the queues are endless!"
"Nice cafe in the car park, but buying two takeaway coffees took ages for the staff to prepare."
