Shopping Experience

Pros:

  • "Great shopping venue, especially the free parking tower."
  • "More or less, best place to shop for gifts or even just for yourself."
  • "Nice shopping centre with plenty of parking and an even plentiful choice of shops to shop on."
  • "Great place to shop and some great stores."
  • "Great selection of shops and food places - the only thing it's missing is a Primark!"
  • "Great selection of shops with all your typical high street retailers - River Island, Next, M&S, JD, Schuh, etc."
  • "Large open air shopping mall with a good number of outlets and cafes. Parking is plentiful with disabled spaces and level access throughout."

Cons:

  • "A wide range of shops and facilities which would normally give them 5 stars in my book. They however have only achieved 3 as no mater the time or the day the parking is always a nightmare."
  • "Only issue is that someone in their wisdom built a shopping complex mall without a roof in the West coast of Scotland."
  • "Although the car park is huge spaces are hard to come by at weekends; go midweek if you can!"
  • "The Main Street has all the major shops present and most of them are the biggest variant."
  • "While the selection of stores in this retail park is impressive, it's worth noting that the design of Glasgow Fort appears to prioritize vehicular traffic over pedestrians."
  • "The car park is so big that there is no problem to park."
  • "The traffic system for the car park is a bit crazed, and parking is a free for all regardless of what time of year it is."

Accessibility and Facilities

Pros:

  • "Parking is plentiful with disabled spaces and level access throughout."
  • "There is parking indicators that tell you how many spaces are available in each car park which is very helpful."
  • "Been here dozens of times after moving into a nearby estate. Loads of parking and importantly for us due to car size and a young kid there is loads of child spaces."
  • "Access to Vue Cinema. Ample car parking areas external and under roof."
  • "Parking is free and plentiful, and the curved layout of the site means that you can park close to the shops that interest you."
  • "Toilets are easily found, clean and well kept and there is a kids play park set back from the main shopping area."
  • "All the shops are on the level of the concourse so if mobility is a problem then you should be ok."

Cons:

  • "No disability scooters on offer and too far for persons with disability to walk from end to end."
  • "Parking can be a bit of a pain until you learn where the entrances to the various car parks are, and I couldn't spot a public toilet when I was there."
  • "The car park is an absolute joke. So many cars without disabled badges in the disabled bays making it hard for those who actually need the space to get one."
  • "Parking is always a struggle and there aren't ever enough disabled spaces."
  • "Very busy and all Disabled Parking Spaces were taken. Cars with no badges no Parking Wardens."
  • "Sea of carpark to be negotiated before reaching the shops, not good for disabled arriving by bus."
  • "The place is decent, not the best as it's not under cover but decent. When the weather is not the best and with it being Scotland that's quite alot, it's like a wind tunnel."

Dining Options

Pros:

  • "Food areas are quite good. Could maybe do with more seating."
  • "Especially enjoyed Nandos."
  • "But plenty choice of restaurants and food and I did notice a 5 Guys restaurant this time."
  • "Fantastic food options for all budgets, occasions, tastes - Gregg's, Starbucks, Frankie & Bennies, TGI Friday's, Wagamama, etc."
  • "It has big restaurants also so you can make a shopping day with some good food with the family."
  • "Went in for a bit of lunch, food was fantastic - I’d recommend the rotisserie chicken."
  • "Went for a meal, then a movie after. Meal was great."

Cons:

  • "No indoor seats available anywhere for elderly."
  • "I must also note a severe decrease in the quality/consistency in several of the restaurants."
  • "The staff at lush are too pushy."
  • "The fort is a good variety of shops. We ate at blue lagoon fish and chip shop, the service was great as were the chips but the fish was awful, so dry and flaky."
  • "Food was great however disappointed that 'no-duck donburi' is no longer an option."
  • "The fast food outlets are the same. Pizzas, Burgers, Chips...all the stuff that helps to manufacture obesity, diabetes and the like."
  • "What to say about here not much no toilets for use n when asking shop to use one you get a no not happy in fact the only place was Asda so thank you Asda you did what others couldn't, it's a disgrace that all the toilets are closed no allowed to use or refurbishing no help signs anywhere for people to use the toilet."
