Food Quality

Pros:

  • "I had the hell's kitchen burger, which was lovely and moist with just the right amount of spiciness to it."
  • "The chips too were among the best I've had as they were perfectly spiced."
  • "The burger was nice and fresh with a good bun, the shake was so tasty, and the onion rings were genuinely the best I've ever eaten fr."
  • "The Hell’s Kitchen, with an added double up for £4.50, was extremely dry and of poor quality, especially considering we spent over £50 on two burgers."

Cons:

  • "Their chicken in burger is halal but not wings or anything else's. Taste wise nothing special."
  • "Burger is quite average and nothing too special about it."
  • "The #BAE burger with fries (£ 17 each) was a quite ordinary Burger (besides the fried egg). The taste was ok."
  • "The first disappointment came when I saw the size of my food. I am a grown man and expect that when I buy a burger and fries for £17 that I can also expect to be close to full when I'm done eating."

Service

Pros:

  • "The service was also top notch, with one of the waiting staff noticing that we were tourists and asking about our time in Edinburgh."
  • "The menu is amazing and the staff are helpful and kind."
  • "Our waitress Kaya was so lovely, absolutely amazing service and nothing was too much trouble for her."
  • "The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was generally good."

Cons:

  • "Booked a table in advance. Upon arrival, no one at the reception and waited for five minutes."
  • "The coke arrived and tasted just like soda water, the staff were not too fuzzy about the quality."
  • "The service is very slow. Server collected the plates just as I took my last bite of food."
  • "We ordered food and drinks at the same time. The waiting time for the food was ok. But we had to ask for our drinks after we got the food on the table."

Price and Value

Pros:

  • "Great potential, kinda pricey."
  • "I was lucky to get a 50% food discount during a student event, therefore the price was acceptable."
  • "The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff are just fantastic."
  • "We were all delighted with our choices. Burgers cooked to perfection - mine, the BAE, err particularly messy to devour, but thoroughly enjoyable. £17 burger and fries offer was not upsetting."

Cons:

  • "£18 for 1 regular size burger and fries was expensive. I was expecting something really nice and a bigger size for this price."
  • "We had the #BAE burger with fries (£ 17 each). It was "standard" fries. The add 12.5% to the bill by default!"
  • "Having been told all the burgers were the same price and included chips I felt conned when the bill came and it wasn't £18 per burger but over £4 more each one."
  • "£49 for 2 very mediocre burgers (with £4 fries upgrade and 12.5% optional" service charge), 1 tapped soft drink and tapped sparkling water."
