Facilities

Pros:

  • "The shower/toilet blocks were very clean and fresh and were amazing."
  • "Washing up facilities - superb."
  • "Indoors Campers kitchen very well equip."
  • "Fantastic facilities with microwave, hob and even a TV with wii to keep the kids happy."
  • "Super clean toilet block and camp kitchen."
  • "Facilities spotless, camping kitchen available to save getting your own dirty."
  • "The amenities were fairly modern and very clean. There is a common room area which is great for a rainy day especially if you have kids, there's games, books, and a wii console."

Cons:

  • "Only one wash and dryer."
  • "Toilet and showers were very clean, though they could do with adding a few more showers as only had 3."
  • "The showers were clean but could have done with a lot more pressure, the site is conscious about saving water but with such little pressure it takes much longer to shower than it should."
  • "The water pressure from the showers was low at best."
  • "It would be nice to change the electric showers for power showers."
  • "The only downside was the freezing facility for ice packs, it only had a tiny area at the top of the fridge which wasn’t very good to freeze them."
  • "Wi-fi doesn't really exist at site."

Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "Staff were friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to look out for everyone."
  • "Staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, would 100% visit again."
  • "Staff extremely friendly and helpful."
  • "Very friendly staff."
  • "Super friendly staff, spotless facilities for loo, shower, washing up."
  • "Staff very helpful."
  • "Everyone was very friendly, staff and campers alike."

Cons:

  • "Some noisy guests group of 4 different pitches on either side of us but that is not staffs fault just inconsiderate people."
  • "Myself and my partner brought our puppy with us to the site where we were with our family...when a lady came over to say that we were to 'keep our dog from barking as it is quite annoying' or we would have to leave."
  • "This was our first family camping trip and we did not bring a compatible socket to use the electrics, however when asked if they had a spare to borrow, I was met with response - 'No we don’t and we cannot do anything about it'. It really left a sour taste and ruined all our experience."
  • "So if you take anything from this review, is that don't come to this site if you have a dog as its not welcoming & want horrific customer service by a 'manager' or staff."
  • "One staff member was whizzing around at speed on a buggy which did feel a little unsafe given there were children on site."

Location

Pros:

  • "Very quiet area."
  • "A lovely and peaceful site."
  • "The area was brilliant for visiting all the local attractions."
  • "Good walks for dogs."
  • "Great dog walk, must come back to do the longer route."
  • "The site is centrally located with easy commuting to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife, and the borders."
  • "Fantastic Scottish gem of a camp site."

Cons:

  • "The planes taking off due to Edinburgh airport nearby."
  • "Fairly close to Edinburgh airport so you can hear the distant sound of planes taking off in the morning."
  • "Constant aircraft noise from airport."
  • "Due to its location to the airport there is a lot of noise from the planes taking off and landing."
  • "The only thing that wasn’t great was you can hear the airplanes through the night from the airport."
  • "However this site is in the Edinburgh flight path and there are planes flying overhead all night long, making it quite noisy."
  • "The airport is close so expect to hear planes if you're a light sleeper they may wake you."
