Seafood Quality

  • "Absolutely magnificent seafood. I've been back in Canada for weeks and am still dreaming about the scallops, fish, and chowder at Crannog."
  • "Fantastic seafood restaurant, must visit if you’re in Fort Williams!! The food is just incredible, all the seafood are just super fresh and tasty!"
  • "The langoustine starter was fresh and excellent value for money."
  • "Must try the langoustine and the scallop. Not a fan of the mussels, but the sauce of it is so good to go with the bread."
  • "High quality food and service! We went for lunch and loved it so much we went back for dinner."
  • "The food was very fresh tasting. The fish cake was excellent and the fish was cooked beautifully."

Cons:

  • "For our taste the soup needed a bit more flavour, which was easily fixed with some salt and pepper."
  • "The only real «complaint» was that the pasta with fish was a bit extra spicy. I could handle it but I believe most people couldn’t."
  • "Mussels were good but tasted a bit off (maybe not fresh?)."
  • "The main was incredibly salty. Told the staff this and said they would check, but nothing came of it and paid full price."
  • "We had a burger and the meat was hard and tasted weird and the bread wasn’t nice either."
  • "The burger I ordered had only the patty, 2 thin slices of tomato, and a piece of lettuce and it cost 12.5! Things tasted frozen and/or old, presentation was poor."
  • "Muscles being soso easy to cook yet over cooked and tiny, spare rib starter-beautiful sauce but struggled to get any meat off the 2 tiny ribs on the plate."
  • "My friend got the fish and chips which were tasteless and bland."

Service

Pros:

  • "The staff members were very friendly and helpful."
  • "Service is PHENOMENAL! The team work really well collectively."
  • "The atmosphere and decor is amazing, super friendly service."
  • "The service was incredible, sweet and very attentive."
  • "Fantastic sea-food, a real treat and a welcome change after all the fried food / pub grub along the West Highland Way. Food is fantastic, service is very friendly."
  • "Our server Robbie was extremely friendly and accommodating."
  • "Staff were so excited to have us and treated us like royalty. Our server, Alice, was an absolute gem."
  • "The food was excellent, the staff friendly and prompt with their service."

Cons:

  • "Food is fantastic, service is very friendly but a bit uncoordinated and thus slower than expected."
  • "Sadly excellent food was let down but very poor service. We were left without having a drink order taken for an inordinate amount of time."
  • "The service took a nosedive we had to ask for pudding and the bill and was at no point asked if we wanted any more drinks."
  • "The downside was ordering a soup as a starter and a burger as main but getting both served at the same time."
  • "We ordered hamburgers that arrived some 40 mins later and were way way over done."
  • "No one bothered to hand us the menu or explain to us that we had to order at the bar."
  • "Terrible burger, and bad slow service. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant."
  • "When we arrived at the place there was no record of the booking and we were turned away without much effort made to try and accommodate us despite it being their mistake."

Cons:

  • "The restaurant was originally located at the waterfront but moved to the heart of Fort William recently."
  • "I will suggest to soften the light in the main dining area, i found it too bright and directly to my eyes."
  • "Overpriced food, famished portions, soggy batter on fish, plain sauce, wobbly tables."

  • "We were seated near the bar. No one bothered to hand us the menu or explain to us that we had to order at the bar."
  • "We had a reservation for 6:00 & my bad, we were 30 minutes late - unfortunately greeter led us to the smallest table in the restaurant one seat facing a wall."
  • "Food was good. Drinks perfect but really crowed and loud. Went for a romantic dinner but turned out to be the wrong place for that."
