Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Our sweets looked delicious and they certainly were!!"
  • "The roast chicken is like the chicken was actually gold dust and the mash was like the mash was actually gold dust and the cabbage was like the cabbage was actually gold dust and the gravy was pretty good as well."

Cons:

  • "So what was meant to be a romantic dinner for 2 turned into main meals for 1."
  • "The vegetables were under cooked being almost raw."
  • "The sharing platters went down well, but the pasta dishes were a disaster; we either got weird food fusions that didn't work, or old stringy spinach and a less than impressive mushroom sauce."
  • "Belly pork was very dry and overcooked (crackling not crispy) and kale so rubbery and stems so hard it was inedible."
  • "The fish and chips here used to be its signature dish. Could not eat the greasy lump of batter served."
  • "Pork and black pudding croquettes were very meat dense and dry."
  • "Food when it arrived was average, roasters overcooked and meat very dry."

Cons:

  • "Having to wait 15 minutes at the bar when the queue is small is a joke."
  • "I had to call the waiter not once but twice to enquire as to where our food was."
  • "It took over an hour and a half for our order to be taken. The waiter was rude with no customer service skills."

  • "Food was fairly good but service left a lot to be desired and several screaming kids made our visit one we wouldn't want to repeat."

  • "Although good quality, £17:00 for a beef burger and a pint of shandy."
  • "£115 for three people having three courses and a round of drinks."
  • "The puddings are overpriced."
  • "Menu now vastly overpriced."
  • "At well over £50 for 2 main courses and 2 drinks (we didn't have a pudding because we couldn't be bothered to wait any longer for a member of staff to attend) quite frankly I expected much better service."
  • "Felt like we had to pay above the odds due to our circumstances as parents."
