Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The food was AMAZING, we both work in hospitality and the food and drinks and wine selection were brilliant at very reasonable prices."
  • "Each dish was tasty and well prepared. The fresh madeleines at the end so good we were so attempted to order another one."
  • "Incredible small plates and an extensive wine list."
  • "The food was incredible, fresh, creative, perfectly balanced in flavours and textures, and came out of the kitchen at a good rhythm."
  • "Most dishes tasted great but some were not to our taste."

Cons:

  • "The ‘tasting menu’ isn’t cohesive and had a couple dud dishes like the bland chicken."
  • "The accompanying cheese and potato bites were tasty but nothing special."
  • "Unfortunately the fish with katsu sauce was a big miss. The fish was just plane and the katsu didn't suit it."
  • "The mains were well cooked but average."
  • "A selection of most memorable dishes are the dry miniature croquettes £4 each, the half a chicken breast in a plate with nothing else and the six bland asparagus tips with some grated cheddar on top."

Service and Staff

Pros:

  • "Not only were the staff incredibly attentive and kind, but the atmosphere was incredible."
  • "The members of staff were so thoughtful and I also got a signed birthday card for them."
  • "The knowledgeable and passionate sommelier probably made us spend quite a bit more on wine than we would normally have."
  • "Staff made us feel totally at ease and very attentive. It wasn't just a meal it was a great experience."
  • "We had a great time! Would definitely go again. The scallops and negroni's were the standout for me."

Cons:

  • "Service is good but too passive… Be ready to wait and always raise your hands to ask what you need."
  • "One of the waiters started clearing our table well before we were finished with the course."
  • "However, they took so long between courses that our dessert came out at 8.50pm and so we had to eat quickly and pay the bill."
  • "Service is also incredibly slow with the food being pulsed out the kitchen 30 mins apart."
  • "Feels like maybe not cared for in the same way as reviews from when it opened."

Atmosphere and Ambiance

Pros:

  • "The atmosphere was incredible, very relaxed and fun vibes."
  • "Fell upon this gem by chance and managed to get a window seat without a reservation. What a find! Fabulous food. Warm, welcoming and attentive staff. Great atmosphere too."
  • "The environment and atmosphere complemented the experience."
  • "Great relaxing atmosphere with nice decor."
  • "Unbelievable food, friendly and attentive staff, beautiful atmosphere, I can’t recommend more."

Cons:

  • "The acoustics are dire. It's a small intimate space that requires a little reverence for the food but given literally every person here was shouting at each other for two hours."
  • "This place is let down by the extreme poor acoustics of the space. It is so loud to have an audible conversation and resounds like a pub."
  • "Lovely little place. Basic interior, but contemporary."
  • "Throughout the evening the music was turned up higher and the lights were dimmed. Crowd mostly mid 30s. Nice for a date night or good food and wine with friends."
  • "If we eat here again I would order wine directly & while the tasting menu is fantastic value (£50) I would be curious about some of the other dishes on offer. I'd also bring earplugs."
