Food Quality

Pros:

  • "We love The Watermill as it never fails to deliver great food and service."
  • "Been and eaten here twice great all round also food was excellent couldn’t ask for much more."
  • "The food and service were really good, particularly the rib and shin burger."
  • "Over-all, the food was good especially the beef roast."
  • "Definitely try the hot chocolate as well."

  • "The food was great. Lovely wine."

Cons:

  • "If you are a celiac (gluten free) the menu is rubbish bacon sandwich, bread stale could only eat the bacon."

Ambience and Setting

Pros:

  • "Stunning views of the countryside on the veranda with comfortable seating areas with a woodfire heating."

  • "Good food in this large pub with bar and formal restaurant areas. Prices rather high, but probably in line with quality."
  • "The food was out of this world and the atmosphere is so friendly."

Cons:

  • "If you are here for the views then I’m afraid you need to buy food, otherwise you are herded down steps to the bottom of the garden which is surrounded by tall hedges/trees, absolutely no view whatsoever."
  • "Once we went out of the restaurant, people had parked over the paved footpath so we couldn't push my parents wheelchair over the gravel, it isn't possible with a wheelchair."
  • "I will rebook as it looked very nice especially the open views at the back but the menu font size is ridiculous. I couldn’t read it in the subdued lighting."
  • "On a side note- Toilets were really messy and had no toilet paper."
  • "All the Ales in the bar were off and the place had an air of panic."
  • "Really poor experience - their menu is far too expensive for what you get!"
  • "Made to feel very unwelcome."
