Cafe and Restaurant Service

Pros:

  • "Their cafe, although busy and low on staff, were able to deliver our food and drinks within 10 minutes."
  • "Service was kind and attentive, quickly remedying a small problem with our order to our complete satisfaction."
  • "Efficient, friendly service."
  • "Service was very friendly too. Definitely going back."
  • "Charlotte our waitress could not have been kinder! I am diabetic and she speeded it up for me."
  • "The head waiter squeezed us in despite being very busy."
  • "The food was enjoyable."

Cons:

  • "We waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken by one of the 3 waiting staff."
  • "The menus were slightly scruffy pieces of paper which had clearly been issued to previous tables a number of times, not ideal for hygiene purposes."
  • "We were turned away for a second try at the breakfast due to it being full."
  • "Unfortunately, until the staffing issues are resolved it's difficult to recommend as a place to eat or drink."
  • "The first red flag was the lengthy wait to have our order taken."
  • "We waited an inordinate amount of time at the entrance to the CafΓ© whilst waitresses came to consult the screen and then vanished."
  • "Service was slow and inattentive and the food quality wasn't what I expected of the place."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The food was tasty, I had the Korean BBQ chicken with chips and coleslaw."
  • "The food in the farm shop looks great."
  • "I ordered vegetarian English breakfast and while I'm not really a vegetarian, I'm now a huge fan of their vegetarian sausage."
  • "A really innovative dish. Absolutely delicious bubble and squeak with sweet potato, honey roast ham and an egg on top."
  • "Loved our visit at The Farm for breakfast. Love the concept of the store but most specially, how delicious their food was."
  • "Lovely fresh food (brownies were amazing🀀)."
  • "The best pizza I have ever eaten."

Cons:

  • "Eggs were meant to be served on sourdough toast but it looked more like a slice of thick white from a supermarket."
  • "Waffles are out of a packet and heated in a microwave, not freshly made; one in our order was burnt on the inside and cold on the outside."
  • "A Β£17 roast dinner needs to be out of this world. This was overcooked veg, a cauliflower cheese that hadn't yet been introduced to cheese, and beef that was far too well done."
  • "The pizza was like charcoal underneath and extremely burnt. It had a weird gritty texture in the cheese."
  • "Our food arrived, well half a cup of coffee and half a cup of foam alongside being barley warm."
  • "Bearing in mind this is a Β£14 vegetarian breakfast, it comprised of 1 sausage, two slices of stale toast that looked like it only had a glimpse of the toaster, 2 leathery and rubber quarter mushrooms that would make better bouncy balls, 2 withered half tomatoes, cheap cardboard hash browns, poached eggs that were uncooked inside and finally topped off with a pot of cold beans."

Shop and Farm Experience

Pros:

  • "The farm shop part is lovely with lots of treats to choose from. The shop is always tidy and a clean open space to explore."
  • "Went back today with a friend and took our kids to see the animals and had a little play on the play area (great for older kids, not so much younger one)."
  • "Lovely farm with huge on-site farm shop and cafe, plus Kids play area."
  • "The farm shop was well stocked with various luxury foods."
  • "I loved the eco refill section and the beautiful fresh fruit and veg."
  • "The Farm is truly exceptional. Apart from a fantastic farm shop, we bought some pies, the restaurant is excellent."
  • "The pigs are behind an unloved veg/fruit patch that's in a bit of a sorry state then I think there's some sheep at the other end of the carpark."

Cons:

  • "The petting farm area was extremely small."
  • "The staff just seem to glare at you as if wondering why you are there. Their social media presence appears very different to what it's like in real life."
  • "The slide is quite a sharp bend at the bottom making the children catch their feet and jerking them. Also some sections had bark missing off the floor, and the sheet underneath was ripped which the children easily caught their feet on."
  • "We ordered tender chicken bbq strips, chips and coleslaw, 2 kids pizza, one strawberry milkshake and a chocolate milkshake. First the strawberry milkshake came back vanilla and we were told that the taste will develop as we sip, what a joke!!. Followed by a very disappointing dish of burned chicken strips and no coleslaw at Β£15 a plate."
  • "I watched a blonde member of staff walk straight past two young boys who were fighting each other with large branched pieces of ginger, without making a single attempt to admonish them."
  • "The paths etc are really not pushchair friendly."
