Ambience and Decor

Pros:

  • "Gorgeous outside area, really beautiful and makes it feel very special."
  • "Loved the inside when we walked in, great atmosphere!"
  • "Lovely setting, early morning start for a Sunday, tables were well set out so didn't feel like you were on top of each other."
  • "Loved the decor and atmosphere of this place."
  • "The pub was nice and warm and a comfortable place to sit and eat food. The pub is also dog friendly."

Cons:

  • "The furniture was rather badly stained. Some of the cutlery was not terribly clean....and I thought the whole place really needed a good clean."
  • "Once we finally got a table after 15 minutes of waiting we were seated at the sofas which were not ideal for dining. The chairs were too low for the tables and the dead flowers behind us were attracting a lot of fruit flies so it just wasn’t a pleasant place to be sitting."
  • "The service was appalling, over an hour wait for our food and it wasn't even busy.. and the food was average. The floors needed a clean and washing, probably with disinfectant would be best and the stairs to upstairs looked more like a group of Ramblers had been up and down, which they hadn't, there was dirt and dust from top to bottom..."
  • "Service wasn't great but improved after we complained. Overall the food was incredibly disappointing, the vegan roast suggested it would include fake chicken and mushroom but was in fact a bland ratatouille with mash on served with cold vegetables."
  • "Sadly over priced for the quality of the food. Food very dry, however the service was good. Also unless you remember to specify they'll give you the expensive wine option not the cheaper one despite having ordered the cheaper option on your previous drink!"

Service Quality

Pros:

  • "Staff were great, would recommend a visit 😀"
  • "Service was slow but very friendly and welcoming. Would return in future."
  • "Lauren (the general manager) was super helpful and offered off-menu alternatives to suit my needs."
  • "Was greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us straight away. Eris the waitress was super attentive."
  • "The service we received from Lauren and the team was absolutely fantastic."

Cons:

  • "Food very overpriced for what it is! The service wasn't great I thought and could be improved. I wouldn't return to the lost boy you eat, too overpriced and lacking service & good food."
  • "Service was slow. Also giving someone a cup of off-hot water and a tea bag is a really bad way to serve a cup of tea. It's not rocket science."
  • "Service was awful because they seemed to be very understaffed for the number of customers."
  • "Let downs were due to slow service. Drinks (including table/tap water) took over half an hour to arrive."
  • "They have tables outside in the courtyard which they are not clearing of glasses or cleaning. Their staff will not come to you, you have to go inside to order food & drink."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Food was nice, I had a calzone, came out picture perfect."
  • "Food was great generally though those that had pizza were not impressed with the way it was cooked."
  • "The food was fantastic and the coffee was delicious."
  • "I had the Fish pie which was the special of the day with lots of green veggies on the side. Partner had wood fired pizza. All was delicious!"
  • "Both our dishes were excellent - the poached eggs were done perfectly!"

Cons:

  • "I ordered the sirloin steak as a treat, asked for it rare and it was medium. It was also chewy and quite fatty."
  • "The food was OK but mine was not terribly warm and service was slow."
  • "The food was also quite overpriced for what it was and I proceeded to feel a bit sick after eating. Very disappointing!"
  • "We had the funghi pasta along with some other bits I forgot to photo. The sauce despite having the herbs and ingredients tasted bland."
  • "My issue came with the serving of the roast - where one slice of pork that actually was basically fat was ridiculous for £17."
