Staff and Management

Pros:

  • "The instructors make it special, the management team are so welcoming and helpful no matter what your query’s may be."
  • "The new Assistant General Manager there Livia is super approachable and friendly, always has time to speak with club members."
  • "Kevin, who assisted me with the sign-up process, has been wonderful—super helpful, patient, and very thorough."
  • "Bianca is always so helpful and so welcoming. If I ever need any queries she’s the first person in the team I go too."

Cons:

  • "Very dissapointed... I was very shocked and disappointed at the incompetence of the staff when I first joined."
  • "Very poor service from linsey. Did not get that diamond tier level of customer."
  • "I am giving my feedback abt the Blaze in this gym. This girl called Natalie is taking over so many blaze classes and her classes are mostly empty due to her unwelcoming attitude."
  • "Regrettably, we encountered the most client-unfriendly receptionist at david lloyds club Cricklewood this evening (Mr Azen)."
  • "Shocking service from Kezia!! Came in David Lloyds for the first time... My Freind had asked me to give him a call once I got to the reception however this did not work as his phone did not have reception for me to call him I spoke to a lady name Kezia Explained my friends phone i not working and I need to get through to him what can I do she replied there is “nothing I can do”."
  • "The worst experience. Was greeted by an angry receptionist last night after work at around 6:30pm who threw the I pad at my guest to sign in. Very rude and bad customer service. Rudely told me I can’t use their spa even though I’m a Platinum member."

Facilities and Cleanliness

Pros:

  • "The lounge area is a very nice place to either do some work or sit with a very nice cup of coffee and relax."
  • "I had an incredible experience at this Health Club! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly staff! The state of the art gym equipment and well-maintained facilities made my workout enjoyable."
  • "Brand new David Lloyd's, Always love David Lloyd's, end up spending hours in there. The facilities in a whole are amazing. Spa, swimming, kids play, bar, restaurant, tennis, and gym are just some of the facilities available."

Cons:

  • "Now its been enough time and I still think for the price they charge for such small David lloyd with no outdoor space... the facilities at least used to be impeccable at the beginning, now they are quite dirty, especially changing rooms and restaurant area."
  • "Paying £200 per month for this nonsense. Plunge pool closed for over a month. No notification for out of service facilities."
  • "Cold plunge pool is disgusting and not cleaned regularly."
  • "The gym is quite spacious and nice BUT the staff members are beyond bad. Nobody cares about anything, very unprofessional attitude, no post joining support."
  • "Shocked to find out after having the gym tour on the open day that the swimming pool wouldn't open until July, and the sauna until September."
  • "NOT WORTH THE MONEY! I've been a member of this gym pretty much from day 1 and over the last 12 months, the quality of the facilities has dropped significantly."

Membership and Pricing

Pros:

  • "I’ve been a member at Cricklewood Lane for over a year, including membership for my daughter. It’s expensive, but compared to similar gyms in London unfortunately they have all gone that way. I do think it represents reasonable value for money in this context."
  • "This gym is SO FRUSTRATING!!! It has so much potential but it cannot meet it. In the last 10 days the pool has been closed on 3 out of my 4 visits. The Air con in the spin room is broken... There is a sign that promises AC units are on their way but over a week later and nothing."
  • "I'm a new member and taking my membership quite serious as I need exercise for my health issues. I am happy with the way things are handled here. Especially Rosh is brilliant and made everything so smooth and easy for me."

Cons:

  • "Frankly I wish it would have stayed a s a Virgin Active club as it used to be before David Lloyd took over. I was a member then, I paid less than half the price I pay now, (sure the spa wasn’t as big and posh as it is now) but the whole experience, staff and conditions of the gym were 100 times better."
  • "I’ve been a member of this David Loyd for year now and when I first joined I thought the facilities was great but the membership was slightly over priced considering that this branch was the smallest compared to the others and parking is always an issue especially when it’s busy, over the year I’ve noticed the level of customer service go down and the up keep of the equipment and facilities too I’ve had to have cold showers on two visits in one week the plunge pool has been out of service for months."
  • "Terrible customer service!!! I first joined the gym mainly for the swimming pool and spa I made sure to ask if I had to pay for the swimming pool classes for beginners since they are already pricey and the person who walked me around ensure that it was included in the membership. After I checked the app to book I noticed that they the only ones that were free were expert level and I had to pay extra for beginners on my next visit I asked for explanations and the receptionist told me that I just have to keep checking the app and eventually I will be able to book for a free course which was a lie."

Classes and Instructors

Pros:

  • "My favourite instructor has be Natalie, she is so motivating and her energy in the class is insane. Natalie always makes her classes fun!"
  • "I never write reviews but had to take the time out my day to write and express how much fun and motivating the Blaze class is at David Lloyds Cricklewood!"
  • "Every time I attend this class I am pushed to my limits and it puts me in the most positive mindset every session."
  • "Have the best time in Robin Persad Total body conditioning class on Thursday mornings 10.40am. His teaching skills are clear and concise and his music is great. Love his classes. Brilliant instructor."

Cons:

  • "You guys are promoting yourselves as the gym that listens, with posters like, 'You said - we did it'. Whom are you deceiving here? Robin and Joe continually told us lies about the only good class in your branch - the dance class."
  • "I am giving my feedback abt the Blaze in this gym. This girl called Natalie is taking over so many blaze classes and her classes are mostly empty due to her unwelcoming attitude."
  • "Soo nice to go to a gym that enables you to workout - parking, changing rooms etc all are awesome. Tried out a few classes. Loving the core workouts since I’m a few months postpartum. Did a core class with Robin today - and it was really good."
  • "Shocked to find out after having the gym tour on the open day that the swimming pool wouldn't open until July, and the sauna until September."
  • "Depending on the day and time you attend this gym will determine the kind of welcome you will receive from reception. So, if you're suffering from any type of anxiety or mental health where a friendly face and a simple hello would improve your mood and upcoming workout, choose your day and time wisely."
