Staff and Service
Pros:
"I can not praise ALL of the staff enough. Following a very viscous dog attack our dog was almost dead. He was hospitalised and required intensive care and surgery. The care and compassion shown to us and our dog, Bailey, was exceptional."
"Staff are so friendly and know my pets by name."
"I would like to thank the vet that performed this task. He treated both me and my dog with compassion and respect."
"Molly dealt with us. I have absolutely no complaints. She is very genuine and explained everything to me so that even I could understand, and I felt at ease."
"I cannot even begin to cover the outstanding and incredible care of Dr Molly and the wonderful Craig."
"Can’t praise the staff at this Veterinary surgery enough."
"Referred from my local vets regarding my dogs hips, my dog is a rescue and very nervous, we saw Duncan who honestly is one of the most sincere caring vets I think iv ever met!"
Cons:
"The reception staff need to learn to smile and make eye contact with customers when they arrive."
"Very poor communication went at 0830 emergency when arrived didn’t even know who we was and first thing they said was are you paying."
"I joined this practice around 6 years ago to care for my beloved dog Oscar. Sadly on the two occasions I needed them I felt let down."
"The reception staff weren’t great obviously disinterested in the clients."
"The auxiliary nurse, Jenny Crane, was shocking. She showed not even the tiniest shred of empathy."
"All they are interested in is money."
"I asked her could she follow up to be told to write a letter to the reception (same reception that told us our account was clear). She was next to useless and only interested in chasing the alleged debt."
Facilities and Cleanliness
Pros:
"Spotlessly clean. Separate waiting areas for dogs and cats. Good selection of pet products for sale."
"Always warm and welcoming, staff have plenty of empathy and patients with the animals, always clean and any accidents dealt with promptly."
Cons:
"Our cat was looked at outside in the cold carpark for not even 5 minutes."
Cost and Value
Pros:
"Yes, procedures are expensive, but they're specialists so I guess I was expecting that and that's why I have pet insurance!"
"Excellent vets. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Expensive (as all vets are) but they do have a few good schemes which offer good value for money and include vaccinations, discounts and some consultations."
"Prices were good and often under the estimate."
Cons:
"I was charged £68 for 3 tablets lasting 3 months... I do not consider this value for money and did feel extremely rushed by the whole experience."
"They prescribed multiple unnecessary treatments, including opioids (which exacerbated her constipation) and sent her for totally unnecessary and expensive."
"As soon as they hear you have insurance they will spend the lot asking to do £1600 Ct scans that aren't necessary."
"Had to go for emergency appointment 4/6/22 for my rabbit I was told it would be £211 just for the appointment before medication never heard anything like it ridiculously over priced."
"The hospital then had to audacity to charge an overpriced consultation fee."
"Advice and care was fine but the price for it was astronomical."
Communication and Professionalism
Pros:
"The vets keep my informed and was very compassionate."
"Very knowledgable, very thorough, and always always take the time to explain things and provide the rationale behind their choice of treatment or medications."
"We are always informed of the treatments and details about the illnesses, and if we have needed to be seen in an emergency that has always happened."
Cons:
"Went with my parrot flower told me she was OK over 3 months ago when I first went I no my parrot to take her back yesterday then to find out that have to put her sleep because they did not look after her 3 months ago when I told them she WAS NOT WELL don't not take ur pet they all they won't is money 740.96 they had off me to say she was OK."
"I'm going to be objective but staffing is dreadful they try and help but one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing."
"We phoned these clowns to arrange an animal health certificate for our bearded dragon, all we got of these was a waste of time."
"But when phoning the ward no-one ever answered."
"We called over a month ago to book our dog in for all necessary jabs/documents that our dog needs to go over to France... Never received no apology from them at all."
"The only major let down at each visit was the reception area and some of the (definitely not all) receptionists."
"Receptionist could not have cared less."
Empathy and Care
Pros:
"Difficult to say loved as we were there to say goodbye to our lovely boy Mylo but all the staff from consultants to reception have been amazing for the last 18 months."
"Recently lost our much loved Tabby, he just curled up and fell asleep. My partner took him to Rutland House where they told him how sorry they were for our loss."
"On arrival upset & scared, the reception staff were amazing, a team of vet nurses were there to meet my poorly Max."
"After the appointment my partner and I felt relieved, our dog had been cared for and wasn't seen as a money bag."
"Vet was very nice, knowledgeable and made sure that we were making the right decision."
"We even had a call from Jess the next day to check Bruno was recovering."
"A special thank you to Sergio molly and Craig. Each of whom we dealt with and found to be a pleasure."
Cons:
"If you want your dog to be sedated and cut open for no reason please use this vets."
"I searched EVERYWHERE for a vet surgery that states they can deal with hens & thought I’d found the answer to my prayers when Rutland House said they did. One appt & a lot of money later & I’m very disappointed as the vet hadn’t even heard of the condition."
"Terrible experience. My placid dog (who is a blood donor for my own vets) is now terrified of being kennelled and being approached with a lead in your hand."
"Do not take ur pets here!! I had a 17 month old French bulldog who started suffering from seizures."
"Misdiagnosed my dog who then sadly had to be put to sleep."
"Shocking vets 0 stars if was possible. they dont care about the wellbeing of your pets just money."
"They do not care about animals they care about the money, some staff there are really nice and respectful but the majority are just rude, uneducated individuals."
