Authenticity of Food

Pros:

  • "Truly superb authentic curry - great variation of dishes to cater for all spice thresholds and taste desires."
  • "Never had such authentic Indian food till now in UK."
  • "Very authentic Indian food."
  • "The food is made fresh, hence the small menu."
  • "The most authentic Indian meal one can get abroad."
  • "Food had a genuine Indian taste."
  • "This place is amazing! I went there with friends and I was initially skeptical because there doesn't appear to be anything vegan on the menu. However the owner assured me that he could accommodate my diet and he absolutely followed through!"
  • "Food was very authentic. The kerala fish curry and the lollipop chicken was amazing."

Cons:

  • "However we ordered something suppose to be naan but it turned out to be Chinese scallion pancakes."
  • "Not authentic Indian food in my opinion."
  • "Food was fine but ruined by an awful service."
  • "The food itself was ok, starters were a bit bland and the curries lacked the actual Indian flare it needed."
  • "The food was really just average. Perhaps people who have given 5 stars have not had Indian food before."
  • "The lamb chettinad had absolutely no flavour other than being slightly hot."

Service

Pros:

  • "The service here was fantastic, all the extra tasting bits you get are a really nice touch."
  • "The staff were so welcoming and on top of everything."
  • "The service was incredible. The staff are so friendly and welcoming."
  • "Staff were all lovely, and they also gave out at least 3-4 complementary appetisers and refreshments between every course for free."
  • "The customer service was great. The lady who served the food was so friendly and helpful."
  • "Service from the staff was excellent. We felt so welcome and at home."
  • "Fantastic food and atmosphere. Tried lots of different dishes from the menu and all were delicious. The customer service was impeccable, made for a really lovely atmosphere in the restaurant."

Cons:

  • "It also took long time for the food to come, 50mins wait till the appetizer was served."
  • "Definitely a relaxed pace (i.e. pretty slow service) but was a great atmosphere and nice food, so we didn't mind."
  • "They are majorly understaffed and should try to fix this issue."
  • "Service. Attentive and efficient when it came. Quick to order and quick to bring out complementary mango juice in a little shot glass (is this a thing?) and a little potato and onion fritter on a toothpick (again, what?). But took 15 minutes just to bring drinks and nearly 45 minutes to bring mains. Far too slow."
  • "Food was fine but ruined by an awful service. Sat down, no waiter came for 30 minutes, we hailed him down and he took another 15 minutes to take the order."
  • "Came here for a dinner with some friends. They warn you that food may take some time to come, but we waited 2 hours for our food."

Variety and Flavor of Dishes

Pros:

  • "The food was absolutely incredible - high-quality meat, full flavor, prepared with love."
  • "Amazing amazing food! Specially the Dhaba chicken curry! Love it if you are fond of “DESI food” and love a little bit of spice definitely have it!"
  • "Highlights: chole, parotta, fish curry, soup."
  • "Delicious food, made fresh and served by attentive waiter. Worth a visit for an unrushed dinner. Small menu but that’s how you know the foods gonna bang."
  • "The depth of spices gave your palette an explosion of flavour (spice not heat), quite wonderful."
  • "The food was delicious but there were also many special touches like small extras between courses."
  • "The food was amazing and arrived in good time. Staff were also extremely welcoming and attentive, especially when asked about potential allergens in the dishes."

Cons:

  • "The lamb chettinad had absolutely no flavour other than being slightly hot. The lamb pieces were themselves small and gristly and drowning in a watery, oniony broth."
  • "The food itself was ok, starters were a bit bland and the curries lacked the actual Indian flare it needed."
  • "The food was really just average. Perhaps people who have given 5 stars have not had Indian food before."
  • "The portions of the main dishes were small. Everything was very slow- more than 3 hours for 2 courses."
  • "It was joke. Interior sitting area was airless and we had to sit gardenish area. They started with a free powdered sugar drink which is followed by a free soup in espresso cup and free pop rocks after meal. And also free potato starter. All was really low quality."
