Food Quality

Pros:

  • "We both ordered fish and chips for the main which was lovely, a good sized piece of fish and well cooked and plenty of chips and mushy peas."
  • "Buffet was lovely, and always plenty of food available."
  • "Good selection and excellent quality."
  • "The food was amazing - the tomato soup starter was really tasty."
  • "The food was divine, fast and friendly service with a fairly priced menu."
  • "Usual buffet stuff. All tasted great."
  • "Food was okay not the worst but not the best, cheese burger and chips was like a kids portion and curry was very runny."
  • "Really good alcohol-free drink options, i recommend the mocktails, really good price for mocktails compared to other places ive been. food is always nice and hot."

Cons:

  • "I came with my family, but they didn't like theirs, as they were served tinned peas and overcooked steak."
  • "Table service was terrible, reaching across people to give food to someone else isn't good. Food came out the kitchen flat cold."
  • "We had pre booked the meal deal as part of our stay at the Premier Inn next door. We went to order 2 carveries, only to be told there was none."
  • "Worst shandy I've ever tasted and was only 5p cheaper than a pint. Food took 38 minutes yet turned up with luke warm chips, burger, the coleslaw was hotter."
  • "Food was dry, cold and minimal portions and garnish."
  • "The food service was very slow, we waited almost an hour for our mains to arrive which turned out to have been sat under heat lights for sometime according to the wait staff."
  • "I ordered the smothered platter, but was rather disappointed. The egg white was like rubber, cheese on the goujons and gammon was a cheese slice and the bacon was very crispy and overdone, what little there was of it."
  • "Awful gristle filled steak ( mightve just got unlucky as my mates one was fine)."

Service

Pros:

  • "The staff were courteous throughout, and very friendly and helpful."
  • "The staff were amazing especially Amy who went above and beyond for us."
  • "Worked out great value for me (1 adult, 2 kids) as kids eat free!!"
  • "Very friendly atmosphere. Many thanks to Tony & Daniel for making us feel so welcome and providing top quality service."
  • "The young girl who's served us was very helpful and made our visit enjoyable."
  • "Our party of 11 consisted of 8 adults 3 under 2 years children and all of us left happy and full of the Christmas spirits literally due to Tony snd all the staff of the day."
  • "The staff Fran and Tony welcomed us at the door and were so friendly, the food was excellent. Buffet style , good quality."
  • "The staff were absolutely wonderful and we would give them 10 out of 10. Especially reception and the wonderful Fran who was just a delight!"

Cons:

  • "Poor service, staff were rude and clueless. I asked for a cocktail at the bar and the staff member rolled their eyes and sighed at me!"
  • "Service at the till was ok, had to repeat our order though because a meal was missed off at first."
  • "We weren't informed about a food wait on ordering or entry and it took nearly an hour to arrive."
  • "Booked a table for Christmas day. They rung me up 2 days later requesting a full payment upfront, which they told me to make upto 12pm the next day. I agreed to it. And then 5mins later received a cancellation email saying that the book8ng has been cancelled."
  • "We had originally booked for the carvery at 7, but when we turned up we were advised the carvery finished at 6."
  • "The lady serving on was friendly and helpful (as she had been the previous morning), but on this occasion there was a man working and in all my years of eating out/working in hospitality and running my own hospitality business I have NEVER come across a more rude and arrogant person!"
  • "Ordered evening meal just before 6p.m although we had a couple of starters main courses arrived at 7.10 p.m 2 gammon meals that were really fatty and 2 beef lasagne,s of very poor quality, very bland asked for refund on 1 lasagne as my wife couldn't eat it due to being so poor and was refused by the server who stated this is brewer fayre standard not al a carte."
  • "The staff look tired but so happy to serve. Staff and management are only doing the best with what they have. There is clearly not enough kitchen staff to cope with a basic dinner shift."
