Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Excellent fish and chips. Perfect fish in batter. Thin, crispy and tasty. Chips were delicious."
  • "The cod was juicy and tender and the batter is not too thick and oily."
  • "The food is amazing - from the scampi to battered halloumi and of course the fish and chips!"
  • "Really lovely cod and chips, we are always wary of trying fish and chips when travelling around the UK as we are spoiled where we live in the North but this was enjoyable."
  • "The Fish & Chips was amongst the best I’ve had. Everything on the plate was delicious."
  • "Fish was big in a light crispy batter, chips cooked to perfection."
  • "Tried the grilled hake with chips, mushy peas and salad - delicious!"

Cons:

  • "Literally the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. £12 for a fish the size of a tadpole that looked like it was cooked 3 weeks ago, and scabby cold chips."
  • "AWFULL FOOD the plaice was that overcooked it was inedable cod just tasted of old oil."
  • "The cod was fairly average and the chips were soggy and brown."
  • "However £12.95 for fish and chips is pretty steep and the fish was a bit greasy."
  • "The fish batter was soggy and the chips tasteless."
  • "Curry sauce full of onions, chips and fish tasteless."
  • "We've rarely had such poorly cooked fish. It was all hard batter and the enclosed piece of fish was dry and inedible."

Cons:

  • "No customer service at all!"

  • "We waited and waited almost an hour after we ordered we received our food."
  • "The worst customer service treatment I have ever received."
  • "We were rushed through service."
  • "Halfway through the meal one of the staff came and asked us to leave as the tables outside were classed as eating in and would require an additional charge."
  • "When I approached the waitress to enquire why my order was taking unusually long she was moving away whilst I was still talking and there was no apology for the length of the wait."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "More importantly, for the Cotswolds it was very good value for money."
  • "Pricing is very reasonable (below 8 for a regular fish + chips) in a tourist area."
  • "Certainly recommend this chippy/restaurant. Generous portion of fish and chips served with delicious minted mushy peas and tartar sauce."
  • "Whilst around £10 may be on the pricey side for fish and chips the quality, surroundings and pleasant staff made it good value for money."
  • "Excellent grub. Excellent service. We suggested we were not hungry enough to attempt the large fish and chips. The chap serving us said they could do a smaller portion which we agreed to. It was perfect, as was the price."
  • "This is the place to eat in Broadway, forget all the fancy restaurants - the fish and chips here are amazing and great value."
  • "THE BEST fish and chips we have ever eaten!"

Cons:

  • "Tasty but not a tad overpriced for my liking."
  • "Very very disappointed in the portion of chips which was a very thin layer not even 2 chips deep and for the price poor."
  • "Expensive poor quality and very small size off fish."
  • "Expensive fish and chips, didn't try the restaurant. Large portion is quite small although the meal was tasty and cooked well."
  • "Very over priced.. food was burnt and for the tiddlers menu my children got a quarter of a sausage each if they were lucky."
  • "The food was OK, pricey at £11 for some chips and four small pieces of halloumi in batter."
  • "Hard to judge this one. Pretty average but astronomical price."
