Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Absolutely the best pizza this trip by a country mile! Without doubt."
  • "Pizza was very good and we had also a parmigiana starter that was well prepared."
  • "The Camberwell Scotch Bonnet pizza with soppressata (Italian dry salami) is probably the best pizza on its menu."
  • "As a person who regularly visits Italy I can still confirm this is the most delicious pizza."
  • "First the pizza was tasty with good quality ingredients."
  • "The quality of the dough and the ingredients is incredible!"
  • "The pizza dough was consistent, the Ingredients in the pizza top quality."

Cons:

  • "Pretty sure they've changed management lately as the quality has been below their usual high standards in the past."
  • "Everytime we order on line, the pizza arrived soggy and watery."
  • "Also ordered a pizza which came lukewarm and burnt as well."
  • "Whatever we ate was not pizza and nothing to do with any Neapolitan dish."
  • "Thumbs down due to pizza quality."
  • "Both times I've ordered a Margherita there's been way too much sauce added, half of which will slip off your slice before it's in your mouth."
  • "Despite requesting no gorgonzola, it had gorgonzola, it was shoddily made; patchy and an absolutely disgusting, disappointing pizza."

Service

Pros:

  • "Service was snappy."
  • "Perfect for groups, lovely service and unbelievably accommodating (even allowed my sister in-law to bring a package of vegan cheese to make her a custom vegan pizza)."
  • "The staff are all so nice and really look after you."
  • "Staff are always friendly and helpful."
  • "Service was polite and prompt."
  • "Good service that was attentive and friendly."
  • "We had amazing service from a waiter who really cared about our needs and made sure we had everything we wanted!"

Cons:

  • "The customer service is the worst as staff talking to each other and completely ignoring customers."
  • "Bafflingly reluctant to seat a group, despite plenty of space ('impossible!')."
  • "The staff laughed when I told them I couldn't eat it because it was way way too salty."
  • "Service is not bad either - polite staff who were helpful *once* we were seated."
  • "Staff were absolutely lethargic until we were seated. This was slowness to the point of rudeness."
  • "Service was subpar. I was continuously ignored by the waitress."
  • "We were trying to get the waiters attention for ages but it almost felt like they were avoiding us."

Ambience

Pros:

  • "Theo's offers a stunning ambience all-year."
  • "Vibrant new pizzeria in Camberwell! Bravo!"
  • "It is deceptively big on the inside while also being warm and cosy."
  • "The atmosphere felt like a high end restaurant."
  • "The atmosphere is really good (not too loud, which is ideal when getting food with friends)."
  • "A buzzing but relaxing atmosphere which will certainly mean we will be back for more with friends!"
  • "The vibes in there are lovely and so are the staff."

Cons:

  • "Tables inside are a bit too close to each other for my liking."
  • "It was pretty loud that day with two huge parties seated behind us, so I'll definitely come back on a more quiet day to try again!"
  • "Can be a little loud (the walls are very bare)."
  • "On a Friday night the music was extremely loud, probably to make people eat faster."
  • "Another star lost for poor lighting. I light nice ambience lights but I need to see what I'm eating."
  • "Quite loud inside though."
  • "Just don't sit near the window in the front because the waiter will be banging into you all night."

Value

Pros:

  • "Really well priced wine list."
  • "You can also get a jug of beer at a good price to enjoy with your wood fired pizza!"
  • "The prices are great value."
  • "We left pretty full or full enough at least for a great price."
  • "We were all pleased with the very reasonable prices."
  • "Price is very good for the quality."
  • "Lovely authentic pizza, fair prices."

Cons:

  • "The prices are high, too high, and especially those of the adds on specials are unjustified."
  • "I do think charging an extra £3 for homemade gluten free bases is very cheeky."
  • "The prices are too high compared with other outlets."
  • "The fact that vegan cheese costs an extra £4 in London in 2022 is really unforgivable in my opinion."
  • "It’s unexplainable to me how the bufalina (cold on top of the pizza) can cost 3 pounds more than the Margherita, considering that the amount of cheese is way less in the former."
  • "Having to pay an extra £3 for gluten free option and a 12.5% optional service charge I personally think is quite greedy."
  • "But most notably MASSIVELY OVER-PRICED. Why pay so much for a margherita?"

Special Dietary Options

Pros:

  • "They're really conscious of dietary requirements as well and have both a vegan option and do a Gluten Free base (which they make themselves!)."
  • "Their basic Marinara is great for Vegans."
  • "Pizza to die for. Gluten Free bases are just as good!"
  • "It's lively, busy and friendly - the pizza's are good - and gluten free definitely makes a difference."
  • "Their vegan pizza which is imho the best vegan pizza I’ve had anywhere in London is frequently sold out and for some reason just unavailable via the Deliveroo app."
  • "Good tip system rather than a mandatory and ambiguous 'service charge'."
  • "Great local pizza, somehow different to your regular average pizza."

Cons:

  • "The place advertises for gluten free dough, so decide to go in and ask how are they with the process of cross-contamination, been told that there is flour everywhere and the pizza is NOT cooked separately or at least in a tray to avoid contamination, so if you are a coeliac PLEASE DO NOT EAT THERE!"
  • "Despite requesting no gorgonzola, it had gorgonzola, it was shoddily made; patchy and an absolutely disgusting, disappointing pizza."
  • "Some staff not very experienced. They confused a gluten free pizza with a normal one."
  • "These had minimum filling and almost no mozzarella."
  • "The 'focaccia' was basically plain bread base with a load of cheese and oil and was not focaccia bread. It was also massively burnt and arrived lukewarm."
  • "I do not like the type pizza (napoletana) because too burned and soggy in the middle."
  • "My calzone was disgusting, sooo salty I couldn't eat it."
