Atmosphere & Location

Pros:

  • "There is a large outside seating area next to the Avon area the hedging absorbs the worst of the noise from the A Road."
  • "Location is nice by the river, a bit of road noise from the A31."
  • "Scenic and picturesque location, with the water flowing next to the car park."
  • "Quiet, warm atmosphere even on a bank holiday."
  • "The pub has a cosy welcoming atmosphere with plenty of seating, there is also loads of seating outside for the sunny days with a riverside garden!"
  • "Lovely old style pub, near the river with an outside garden."
  • "A beautiful thatched inn full of wooden charm & character with wooden panels and a double sided log burner making it super cosy sitting in the high backed leather sofa beside the fire with its open fire place, a real treat in the coming cold weather."

Cons:

  • "Despite living quite close I'd never been to the Fish Inn, it seemed too near a very fast, busy road."
  • "Other problem was that there was a live band, which is nice from afar, but they set up and had their speakers next to the restaurant, right on the other side of our wall and the noise was deafening."
  • "Can be tricky getting in into and out of the car park as it joins straight into the busy A31 dual carriageway."
  • "Large garden and car park, but a bit noisy because of the motorway."
  • "Being banished to a separate, rather cold, uninhabited section of the bar whilst everybody else enjoyed the fire and the decorations."
  • "The only downside is the front entrance has now been removed and you have to go through the village for car access."
  • "With the roadworks on the A31 proving turning off here not as easy as before, it’s well worth going around to get to."
